I recently visited Basket Burger Café and really enjoyed the experience. Parking can be a little tricky since it’s limited, but once you step inside, the charm of the place makes up for it. The restaurant is small, but in a good way—it feels cozy and welcoming. There are a few tables along the wall, a long counter with chairs where you can watch the kitchen in action, and a few more tables along the south wall.

The food here is delicious and freshly made, with that comforting, homemade feel. If they’re busy, be prepared to wait a bit, but trust me—it’s worth every minute. I loved my meal, and the standout dish I kept noticing was the teriyaki chicken and rice, which honestly looked like the star of the menu. I quickly wished I had ordered it myself!

My wife and I both enjoyed our food, and with tip we spent a little over $40, which felt reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.

From the atmosphere to the flavors, it’s clear this place has history. It appears to be family-owned and operated, and from what I’ve heard, they’ve been in business for over 40 years—which says a lot about their consistency and community support.

Overall, Basket Burger Café is a hidden gem worth checking out if you’re...

Recently stopped by on Saturday morning around 9 looking for a good breakfast spot near me (montebello resident). Was suprised how small the place was because it definitely looks bigger from the outside but the breakfast did not dissapoint. We waited about 10 minutes for a spot to open at the counte for me, my husband and daughter. Owner was friendly and welcoming. Ordered the breakfast combo that included pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns and bacon. Pancakes were delicious. Hashbrowns were crispy on the outside just the way I like them. Its kind of on the pricier side but in todays economy everything is. I could have passed on the coffee, just regular coffee with plain creamer but not a deal breaker. Will definitely return when I dont want to drive to Jacks in Whittier or Jennys in Santa Fe Springs. Good decent breakfast from a small hole in the wall. For reference, counter sits about 10 and there are 2 tables that sit 4 and maybe 3 tables that sit 2. Try it out for yourself, go early to...

My Sister introduced me to this great little place some years ago and now I continue to go as often as I'm able.. Saturdays, mostly. This is a family run business and u can never go wrong here! I go for the (well portioned & delicious) breakfast of eggs, bacon, house potatoes and melt in your mouth pancakes, made to order fresh, right in front of you! My favorite things is that they make their own delicious salsa and they use REAL BUTTER! Big, big plus for me!! and they use the freshest ground beef to make the biggest hamburger patties (gota see and taste to believe!) I love that they are consistent, how they run the place and how they make their food. The place is tiny (wouldn't change it!), and it gets suuuper packed on Saturdays, but they manage it very, very well! But u gotta a wait a long while to get seated AND to get ur food, but u wont ve disappointed, it's so well worth it! The service is fast and pleasant and they remember u if u go back.. most ppl...

This place is the definition of a hole in the wall, which has mainly bar sitting and about 4 actual tables that sit 4 people each comfortably. LET ME TELL YOU. This is a hot spot for breakfast, so if you don't mind waiting about 30 minutes to sit, I highly recommend this spot if you like typical breakfast. They ladies' cooking get down in the kitchen and are great at what they do. My go-to is the burger party, which comes with a side of hashbrown and 2 eggs of your choice. I love to add a side of pancakes that comes in a 2 stack. Check this place out. You will not regret it. In my opinion, this is a breakfast joint, not so much of a sandwich spot if that is what you are into. Or order take out if you do not feel like waiting. Again, I had to wait about 40 min to pick up my order, but we'll be worth it

My first time here, and I gotta say I'll definitely be back. My brother, before he passed away would always rave about this place, and he wasn't lying. The food was awesome, fresh made salsa is the bomb, and not to spicy. The customer service is great, its Asian ran and they aim to please. I came for breakfast, but would definitely like to try some of their lunch items. I didnt see this on the menu, but they were also making beef and chicken teriyaki which looked delicious. Might try that next time. It's not a very big place, so seating is limited, especially if you go when its busy. Which lucky for me it wasn't. Maybe Tuesday is just a good day to go.
