Disappointed in my experience. Came on a Sunday afternoon, reataurant had a few tables sat, and most were leaving. I stood up front for a few minutes before being acknowledged. Water was brought quickly. After nearly 10 minutes, my server came to take my order. I ordered spring rolls and drunken noodles no broccoli. It took another 20 minutes to get the spring rolls. The wrap seemed like it was double wrapped, as it was tougher and thicker than I'm used to. Flavor was OK, the sauce was akin to a Chinese duck sauce. The drunken noodles arrived about 10 minutes later. There was broccoli in it, so I picked that out. I never saw my server again except when she dropped the bill (water was empty and I had eaten just a few bites.) The flavor was not what I'm used to. It was saltier than I expected and much darker in color. The veggies were fine. With no water and my check ready, I asked for a box and handed over my card. I got the receipt a few minutes later, but no pen, so I walked up front to sign it. Price was very fair for the portion, although if you are very hungry I suggest getting extra meat. Overall disappointing experience, and I likely won't go back.

2025 update: We first came here in 2002 and the food was excellent then. We came 2 years ago and again it was very good but we came today and it wasn't at all. The Egg Drop Soup was ok I guess - tasted so-so but it was red! I lived in Thailand for many years and never saw red egg drop soup here or there. My husband got the Drunken Noodles and actually felt sick a couple hours later. I got Pad See Yu and it didn't taste right, was very soupy (it's a dry dish) and was extremely salty. I assume they got a new chef?? Perhaps Americans who don't know what Thai food should taste like might like it (the place was quite full when we left but no Asians) but for those who've lived or even been to Thailand it was not what it should taste like. We're rarely in town here and stop when we are, but this is our last time. We won't be back. 2023 - This is a great Thai restaurant with excellent food and large portions.

Neat place with some tasty food! Seating may be limited sometimes, but wasn’t that crowded during my visit. Service wasn’t really quick, still good enough. Veggie spring rolls were good. Boss’s fried rice (winter special) was decent, however I was charged the price of Beef version even for Tofu, while other fried rices are clearly marked different. Also tried curry fried rice, but it was quite moist, with some curry gravy in the serving, which is quite unusual for fried rice. However, it was delicious and creamy! Iced tea was very good and balanced, and along with Sticky mango (purple) rice, they felt soothing enough to quench those spice flames from fried rice. I heard the staff mentioning discounts for cash payment, while they hadn’t mentioned anything to me until I paid with my credit card. Overall, food tastes good, service could be better!

It breaks my heart to write this review, as this used to be my favorite restaurant in Kalamazoo. But after three bad experiences in a row, I can't convince my companion to go back and I can't say I blame her.

The first bad experience was with the service. We arrived shortly before a very large table (at least 10 people) and we made a point to get our order in before all of the people at the large table had even arrived. Our soup came, but then our waiter took the orders for the large table, served them their appetizers, and served their main courses while we waited over 50 minutes to get our order. The manager offered a half-hearted apology and 20% off our bill. We said we'd come again.

For the second, the service was better, but several key ingredients were left out of our gang kew wan, including eggplant and baby corn, both of which are listed on the menu. Our server apologized, explaining that there were several new people in the kitchen who didn't know the menu, and brought us a plate of microwaved eggplant.

The third time, our tom kha took 25 minutes getting to the table (and there wasn't more than 2 other couples at other tables), and when it finally arrived, it was made without coconut milk -- basically just a clear broth. The server explained that every cook does things differently.

"That's not good for business," I said.

She shrugged, and gave me a "well, what are you gonna do?" look. She made no offer to try to make things right. Another worker overheard my complaint, and brought out a new order of soup, but by the time it got to the table, we were nearly done with out entrees.

This used to be a great restaurant, but something has happened. I hope I'll hear they turned it around at some point, and if they do, I'll take this review down and put up a good one.

Incidentally, Anand PG, who wrote a review about the restaurant closing early, is absolutely correct. They have a terrible habit of closing early, especially if they are slow. It's happened to me on more than one occasion. I don't care if you USUALLY stop seating at 8:30. Patrons come to your restaurant to spend money, and you're going to turn them away because it's 8:33? Bad business. Besides, if you're open until 9 PM, one should be able to walk in at 8:55 PM and get a table. If you wish to stop seating at 8:30, then your hours should...

I just got home....and I can't wait to go back.

A few years ago I moved to the Kalamazoo area from the Lansing area. One of the foods that I was introduced to while living there was Thai, and I couldn't get enough of it. After moving, one of the things I was never able to find close to me was another Thai food place. For years now I've had the yearning for my favorite food, but was forced to go without.

One day while browsing social media, some local people recommended Bangkok Flavor as a good place to go. I had seen a recommendation before, but for some reason I thought Bangkok was somewhere in the China area so it never registered to me that this was a Thai food place. Yes my geography skills are awesome. So after taking a peek at their menu (even though I was thinking it was Chinese food) I realized.....great googly moogly it's Thai food.....AND they even have my favorite dish there?? Where has this been all my life??

So obviously the next day I headed there to try them out. The restaurant is in a strip mall so it isn't the most obvious of places to find unless you know what you're looking for. Inside is a small/cozy seating area. I'd say there's only enough room for a maximum of 10 tables at the most of varying sizes. So if you're going to want their food, you may consider ordering takeout, or expect to wait a little bit.

After having gone a couple of times now my favorite dish is still the "Peanut Curry Noodle". Think of wide noodles, mixed in with a spicy peanut butter sauce. Maybe that sounds a little weird (Peanut Butter?) but holy guacamole is it good. You can also get it in varying degrees of spiciness as well as meat choices like beef, shrimp, etc. in it. Sometimes I like it mild with a little bit of spice. Other times I like it medium, with more spice, but hurts so good.

So yeah, I definitely plan on going back there. Actually have to talk myself out of going there too often now that I've found it. Highly recommend you give it a try too. If you need a recommendation - try the Peanut Curry Noodle with mild spice and beef! Like spice? Like noodles? Head on down to...

Upon arrival, we had been greeted and seated within the first few minutes. After about 3 minutes our server came over with water and asked what we wanted to drink. Other than the water we ordered a thai coffee and the combo appetizer. Our server repeated the order and continued to do her job. After 21 minutes one of the other servers talked with our server after nodding at us. The other server then came over and apologized for the wait and asked us if we would knew what we wanted to order. I told her that we ordered an appetizer and thai coffee when we first got our water. I let her know at that point, if our appetizer has not been started then we will be done and leaving since all that we had been given is water. She went back to our first server where we watched both of them and a third server bust into laughter. The new server came back while the others went into the kitchen and stated that our appetizer will be out in a moment. After another 8 minutes, the original server served us crab rangoos and a thai coffee and stated that she was sorry for the wait and that the items had no charge. When I asked about the combo that i originally ordered as an appetizer, she stated that that will be free as well and that she will put that order in. At that point, I was irritated enough and told her no and that we will be leaving. All in all I had an experience that will keep me...
