How to Avoid This Common Facebook Car Buying Scam
One of the most common automobile sale scams I hear about is Curbstoning and it is a scam. Yes, it is an illegal practice of selling used vehicles under the pretense of being the car's owner in order to evade city ot state regulations imposed on authorized automotive dealers. And yes, these people are doing this. Look at their Facebook ads claiming to be a private seller. I messaged a couple of them and their replies confirmed they are doing this. I even went to their address and received the expected reaction. These people are even leaving their own positive Google reviews while working in the shadows to make the maximum amount of profit on each sale by cutting corners. Even in the states it is not illegal it is problematic when the seller starts a transaction by lying to the buyer. So how can you protect yourself as a consumer from this unscrupulous practice? My hope is that the information in this post will help steer clear from being the victim of curbstoning. Just look on the internet for simple suggestions can greatly reduce the chances of falling prey to this unsavory scam. If anyone offering to sell you a car becomes angry when you mention the price, particularly when the vehicle was presented in the ad in a certain condition, but after you test drive it find some issues, run away. A buyer has the right to ask questions about the car, to include the price of the car. You are not buying a toothbrush, it is a...

My wife and I went to this dealer about a week ago to buy a Nissan Versa but ended up trading our Nissan Altima + cash for it. We also bought a 3month warranty. We drove the car behind the shop to have a feel of it and noticed some noise from the engine and poor traction when you accelerate. When we told them they assured us that the engine and transmission were great and that the issue is from the muffler cover.
We drove straight to the mechanic and over the past week they assessed and realized the transmission needed to be replaced.
I called them back and they told us they won't/can't do anything about the damaged transmission because it's been more than a week. We told them the warranty is for 3 months so where from the 1 week?
To be honest they were extremely nice to me and my wife when we went to buy the car but the conversation after I told them the problem with the car was nasty.
Please and please stay away from this dealership or go with a mechanic to assess the car you want. DO NOT TRUST A WORD FROM THEM UNTIL YOU GET A PROFESSIONAL ASSESSMENT OF THE VEHICLE.
We now have to buy a new transmission and get the car fixed before our expected baby arrives in barely 2months. We are planning on taking legal actions because they refuse to do anything about...
