The parking lot, akin in size to a fast-food restaurant, poses a challenge during busy times, requiring patience for finding a spot or opting for parking next door.
Entering the restaurant, the small vestibule, especially evident on rainy days, lacks room for waiting. This was apparent during our visit when the soaked front vestibule offered minimal space as we awaited a table.
Our culinary journey commenced with the spring rolls—3 inches in length, slightly thicker than a thumb. Accompanied by a dark dipping sauce that didn't complement the rolls, they resembled something my wife might prepare in the air fryer from a frozen package. We also ordered Crab Rangoons, served with the same dark sauce, but we enjoyed them plain, savoring their perfectly cooked goodness.
Opting for the Three Headed Dragon, a blend of chicken, steak, and shrimp, I discovered the fried rice differed from the traditional Japanese style, offering a more robust beefy flavor. The shrimp sauce, ketchup-based rather than the usual rice vinegar, added a unique twist. While I enjoyed the meal, it's not one I'd reorder in the future.
My wife's choice from the Kitchen Specialty menu, the General Tso chicken, deviated from the typical Chinese rendition but pleasantly surprised. The juicy, perfectly cooked chicken made it a preferable alternative, leaving me wishing I had ordered it instead.
The exceptional service, marked by multiple check-ins and timely food delivery, stood out even in the midst of a packed restaurant.
Transitioning to the atmosphere, the space was adequate but somewhat cramped, particularly noticeable when seated near the front door. As people waited nearby, the lack of a designated seating area led to occasional intrusion on our dining space, mildly affecting the overall experience.
For those preferring to skip the line and dine at home, a convenient drive-through option is available.
In summary, the dining experience, while not without its minor drawbacks, offers a worthwhile adventure. As the kids might say, it's mid. I recommend giving this place a try, with a special nod to the General...
Read moreI came in yesterday and I ordered a coke zero and the black samurai. The waitress was amazing. Especially being her first day there as she says she usually works at the smoke pit in Salisbury. However it seemed as though someone had hooked a cherry coke bag to the mixing station where a coke zero was supposed to go. Because the cherry coke and coke zero tasted identical, except the "coke zero" had a tiny bit more carbonation then the actually cherry coke. So I opted for water. Would definitely recommend having Coke come out and and dial your mixing station in. The food was good. Salmon was great, shrimp was Great and so was the chicken and steak. However hibachi style fried rice no matter where you go usually has a pretty uniform flavor profile across the board which one comes to enjoy and somewhat expect. The rice here is nowhere near that flavor profile. It's actually a more acquired taste so I would recommend working on the recipe for the rice a little, to try and dial that flavor in more to a more authentic flavor. The biggest issue and I know things happen but for a 30 dollar plate I don't expect to receive hairs in it. And on something like that a meal/check should never be just discounted and pushed away like it wasn't important . The hair went into my mouth as I scooped from the bottom of my rice. And I had to pick it out. Which makes you lose your appetite naturally. No....It should be remade and comped. But I got a 3 dollar discount. Which is more of passing my concern off to someone else because you don't want to deal with it. And usually when a hair or something foreign is found in someones food a member of management usually corrects the issue and not makes their waitress do the dirty work. Just a little little food for thought. I think price range is decent for the amount of food. And I understand this is the first week opened. So there will be kinks to work out just like any restaurant. Which is why I'm trying to be as detailed as possible. I am willing to give it another shot. So I will be back. Hopefully without the...
Read moreThey must not like black people in this place Because even the Black workers said he was going to complain about the white workers in this establishment and encouraged me to write a review. But I walked in today and the first thing was, was that nobody greeted me. I waited until somebody asked if I wanted to dine in or take out and by the time I was asked I said take out once I got to the take out area there was a lady who was there and didn't greet me or say anything had me standing there for 5 minutes before a nice gentlemen walks up and takes my order as I was there I seen one black girl walk up and the same lady looked at her and walked away. then another lady came up and looked at her and walked away. but as soon as a black girl worker came up, she took her order. shortly after I took mine and I sat down and waited. Then another black girl comes in there is three white women standing there not helping her, but they all looked at her as she was waiting patiently and then they walked away, they called a black man from the back to come up and help her specifically. The black girl had a confused look on her face. when I wanted to ask for some help about adding a drink, I was ignored 2 times by white people. but the same black man that helped me and the other 2 other black girls came out his way, to help me at that point I didn't even want the drink. he gave me the food and apologized and said he was going to let the manager know because it's been going on for days with a lot of black customer s and employers. how can this be a hibachi restaurant and you have oppressors that's not culturally competent working for a great Asian cultured restaurant. The kicker for me was that when an Asian man walked in with his son, he was greeted by everybody and was getting helped by every white person. even the white customers were getting all the help but the black ladies including myself had to wait and get help by a black man....
