Incredibly disappointed with the experience I’ve had with Elsie Green. I’m currently awaiting a response after they told me that in order to return the table that I purchased, NOT custom - literally just clicked “add to cart” and there is even a note at the bottom of the description saying that if you wanted a custom piece to reach out sooo I would think that I most definitely did NOT order a custom piece - that I would have to pay for shipping and only get a 50% refund. That is the refund policy for the CUSTOM furniture, all the way at the bottom of the return policy, by the way.

Not to mention, the table arrived extremely late with little communication when I inquired about that, and DAMAGED. Part of the reason I want to return it is the damage - they just sent a wax kit so I could fix it myself which is not at all helpful. That was their only response to the damage. And also, the finish is…well, it’s not finished. The table is extremely rough and splintery.

To me, the damaged arrival alone is enough to warrant a free return. However, this company clearly does not value customer service.

OH and they asked that we not touch the table so they could “resell it some day as new”. So maybe that’s why it was damaged. They probably did that to me.

I ordered the farmhouse wood table from Elsie Green in 9/23. I had to reach out after 6 weeks for a shipment confirmation. Once they sent me a confirmation I had to wait another 4 weeks with no table and no word from Elsie Green. After reaching out again and getting no answer, I had to personally track down their shipper and call the guy on his personal phone to set up shipping with the trucking company. It was pretty ridiculous. I got my table a solid 12 weeks after ordering. The table is not good quality. Very rough, lots of chipping wood- especially the edges of the table. Terrible finish. Lots of ruined and snagged sweaters and crying toddlers with splinters. And when it gets wet it smells like manure. So, very filthy wood. And because it’s not sealed with any finish it stinks all of the time. After owning for a while I have to completely refinish the top myself because it’s unusable. I reached out to Elsie Green over these issues and their response was literally “well we have this table in our kitchen and we really like it- if you don’t like it be more diligent using tablecloths and placemats.” Insanely bad costumer service for a $2500 table. Unfortunately, my last order did not meet expectations in terms of customer service and delivery. I ordered antique tureens for my daughter's birthday, and one month later, they still had not arrived. When I called Elsie Green, I was told they'd been trying to contact e as the book I also ordered was out of print and they hadn't yet fulfilled the remaining part of the order. Unusual business practice. And when I double checked to see if I'd been emailed as they told me, I did not receive an email from date of order (9/25) until date I called to double check (10/14). Shipping of the order is now due almost 4 weeks after I initially ordered it. I'm so disappointed and unsure whether or not I will order from this company again, despite my love of their product...
