Food Lion — Local services in Concord

I had a really embarrassing experience here today. I lost my debit card so I can only pay with the debit card on my phone (Apple Pay). It’s my own fault but my phone was close to dead but I decided to chance paying. It died right when I was finished being checked out. I embarrassingly had to explain that and go out to my car and charge my phone to pay. My car was barely getting any charge to my phone. After 10 minutes it would get it to 1% and I’d go inside and try. It would always die. I tried this 3 times. Finally a tall, African American lady offered me a wall charger and to sit by the wall and charge my phone. It meant a lot she offered as I was getting frustrated and very embarrassed as I could tell everyone was thinking I was trying to either A.) steal the groceries or B.) pull off some type of scam. I was to the point of tears almost that I knew they were thinking this of me, on top of just wanting to pay/get my stuff and GO, and a baby in my arms getting annoyed too. The fact that that lady was the only one who offered any help or to lend a hand meant the world as I was seconds away from bursting out into a full blown post-partum crying episode if it weren’t for her. After I got my phone to 2% I was able to check out. The lady ringing me up then said, “we just thought you weren’t going to come back with the groceries.” Thus confirming my thoughts they all thought I was some scamming lowlife, which hurt my feelings even more. I cannot thank that lady that went the extra mile to help me enough. But to everyone else: you guys are mean and should rethink your views on people. Lend a hand or offer some kindness before jumping to the conclusion someone is evil/doing something bad/pulling one over on you. Thank you, lady! I was so flustered I forgot to ask her name but I hope she reads this or a manager does and gives her the recognition she deserves. ⚠️⚠️Edit/Update 21 Sept 2023: They are redoing their floors, so Sunday through Thursday, THIS Location will close one hour earlier over the next six weeks. IOW: Closes at 10:00 p.m. (2200) instead of 11:00 p.m. (2300). Other hours and days of operation (Friday and Saturday) remain unchanged. If this helped you, your welcome. The great, polite & friendly staff are always willing to help. Nice location with easily accessible entryways and exits via several well-spaced points - including a "Locals-Only know it" way to beat the traffic during certain times* - smooth asphalt and a very well-lit parking lot. The checkout lines move quickly & if needed, the manager(s) will open additional check-out lanes as well as jumping behind to help bag etc. {Hallmark of a true & well trained Managerial Staff and reflects highly upon the company. Sigh. It's the little things in life. All of the belts, surfaces, bagging areas, carts etc. are thoroughly sanitised after each use and the store has at least one dedicated team member at the front to ensure safety (wipe down) protocols are met and employees may offer masks to customers {Listen. Your opinion regarding the Pandemic notwithstanding, as displayed on large signs at both Entrances, the Protocol Measures are NOT Food Lion Policy. They are EOs from the Governor of the Great State of North Carolina. So don't vent at people doing their jobs, cool?} or general help. The store recently installed no-touch hand sanitizer dispensers near the restrooms, around the store and beside both entrances, near the existing bottles of wipes that "lived there" long before... Oh, a very nice butcher selection and staff, unlike certain other companies, are very helpful with specific orders. Keep up the...
