I don't know that I've ever donated goods to a less helpful or less friendly center.
I came around the drop off window in the back, where two staff ignored me.
I came in the front, where I was informed "we need to grab someone to see if anything you brought is worth having in the store." I have never, ever heard something like that about donations.
When the staff member came out front to check whether my donations were "worth it", he seemed impatient. Not so impatient that he actually helped unload any of it from my car, though.
I asked him before he wheeled his dolly back inside if they were interested in any other goods I had planned to donate. He said they'd consider it with what is best described as a sneer.
I donated a wooden table, some wall art, and some clothes. But I'm afraid this will be the only time I do. I've heard they do good in this community, but I don't plan to donate in the future. I would not recommend anyone else...

They hand out food for free that is bad, past experiation, and if you come late in the day food that is rotted. They throw away so much good stuff; that I'm guessing they couldn't or wouldn't sell. They offer no resources for the homeless except junk "homeless packs" that consisted of a cheap back pack, some toiletries (which most homeless people can't even use by the way), and a cheap one person tent that won't keep anybody dry or warm and the zipper on mine broke day 1. The food pantry is the second largest in the Fayette County system and supplies needed items to over 600 needy individuals and families monthly. You get more than canned food with your supplement as local businesses are gallaient in donating overflow stock as well as healthy and nutritious food for the citizens of the Connellsville Area. The Care and Share Thrift store can't be beat with the prices and inventory.
