This review is difficult to write - I made an appointment for a full leg/Brazilian wax a little while ago. The aesthetician who gave me my wax was very sweet and warm and worked very hard to make me feel comfortable, and was quick to hear what I wanted (not something that I’ve experienced at every salon). However, the waxing experience itself was terrible. She kept getting the wax stuck in my hair, and didn’t conceal the fact that this was frustrating to her (in addition to being incredibly painful for me). A good wax shouldn’t be painful - I’m not saying it should be pleasant, but a professional and experienced aesthetician should know how to apply and remove wax in a way that doesn’t cause excruciating pain. I’ve had about 5 professional waxes before, as well as frequently doing my own at-home sugaring. I left the salon with large patches of hair that hadn’t been removed, as well as sticky bits of wax all over my legs and bikini area. Despite frequent exfoliation, I had the worst ingrown hairs of my life over the next two weeks, and had regrowth of the areas waxed within a few days. Disappointing experience, considering that a full wax like this costs upwards of $130, plus a hefty tip (which I probably should have cut back, but I know how difficult it can be to make any decent money working under a salon that takes a big cut). Maybe if the aesthetician hadn’t felt the need to rush through my waxing appointment, my wax would have been better executed. So I called this morning to set up an appointment today 09/01/23 the lady answered I said I'd like to make an appointment for today with Jodi she said she is fully booked today so she suggested Maggie I said yes that will work. It's for my daughter and I so its 2 hair cuts we want layers she said ok will 3:15 work? I said absolutely. So my daughter and I go in and my daughter goes first. Well when my daughter was getting her hair blow dried maggie finds out that her other customer is there so she's rushing and pulling my daughter head back and I also got the same treatment as well head being pulled back and I am not happy at all with how my bangs look at all. I left out of there in tears bc I was so very upset and my daughter was upset as well. This is the first time we as paying customers got treated like this. I will never go back to Maggie ever again. She was more worried about her other customer than anything. Worst experience ever by someone in this shop. Also forgot to mention the girl that answered didn't even put down 2 hair cuts she only put 1 down. I also paid $110 dollars for bad treatment of a customer....

Been going to Laura* (the piercer) I think her name is forever since my first nose piercing and she was always professional and sweet I recommend her if you want your eyebrows done too she’s absolutely amazing and she’s so stylish. Enough about the piercer more about the salon, I have been coming to utopia salon for the past three or two years and it’s employees have never been anything but helpful angels to me, the salon is so clean and I love the refreshments. I’m sorry this doesn’t make too much sense , but thank you so much ladies and gents of utopia salon for keeping me myself everyday. The only thing I would change would to be maybe have a Separate place like another location or store for piercing appointments or just hire two piercers because she’s a busy or not there a lot when I’m available for appointments but other than my own dumb opinion I love this salon more than anything and Laura’s* the best piercer ever I love you guys sincerely, Maddie a 15 year old stroke victim who’s a giant diva. *still not sure if my fav piercers...
