This pharmacy gave me one of the most disgusting experience EVER!
As soon as I feel better, I'll be inquiring other options to receive my medication-from another location and/or business.
Approximately @0125hrs, I came into this this pharmacy and I was greeted by the pharmacist behind the counter-with "Jesus Christ!" Then, slams down his paperwork. The first thing I responded with is, "I can wait." Then, shook my head. The man then, proceeds to say, "Okay, good, because I literally go on break in five minutes."
He then proceeds to fill medications in the back and CLOSED the window-the man could see I was in some kind of distress and could SEE that I could barely sit down. I just closed my eyes and proceeded to wait. He passes by me after closing the window and proceeds to go in the break area. All of this is happening now, from exactly from 0130hrs until 0200hrs. When he came back, my perscriptions were filled-(steriod and painkiller, after being diagnosed I had a Cervical Strain). The pain became so unbearable, that I had NO choice but to go to the ER, after trying some self-treatments at home, earlier that day.
I WILL tell you, it took him that extra FIVE-SIX min-he had available on the front end, to assist me and let me pay my copay, rather than to have me wait until his break was over-(are you kidding me)? I guess I should feel better/flattered that he asked me if there were any questions of him, regarding the medication while he was bagging it up-(sarcasm). I couldn't even look at this guy. I told him, "No." I got my medicine and went home and immediately, took a painkiller.
At least the hospital at CMC, treated me so amazing-their bedside manner was a great experience. There were several nurses and a Doctor that had to assist me getting up/down out of the chair. I had tears running down my face-(I was in that much pain). I'm so GRATEFUL they gave me medication there to relieve my pain where I was literally, crying-until I was able to get my prescription filled.
However, at Walgreens, I was treated like a "Number" and/or an "Irritant" because I could've been a possible inconvenience-potentially, mess up "a break," that I'm sure he could take a "little later," was astounding to experience.
I don't know why people get such jobs to help the sick/injured- when it's GUARANTEED, it'll be a constant/redundant cycle that never ends.
You HAVE to like/LOVE this type of work-(Pharmacist/World of Medicine); if you choose this as a career! If you're "burned out," take a vacation!
My other suggestion is, if this place is that overwhelming at night for "ONE" person to cover down on their shift alone-maybe someone in Walgreens' HR should "FIX That!" This is the SECOND incident that something like this has happened to me! Only, THIS time, this was absolutely aggregious behavior! I might've not had caught his name, (although, I was looking for it), but I'd be able to point him out and/or describe him); when I call corporate today.
I just want Walgreens to KNOW that I'll NEVER forget how I was treated here early this am. BELIEVE ME, I would've wanted to absolutely, be in MY BED, especailly, at this time of hour, than to be in the ER, THEN, to WAIT for some, while they finished their break-(additional 30min)! SMH! Thanks for treating one of your RETIRED...
Read moreToday I had to bring my 3-year-old daughter to urgent care. Antibiotics were sent to Walgreens pharmacy. I went to the pharmacy to make sure they had the prescription. Jennifer who became a pharmacy tech in 2024 told me that she didn't have the prescription. I felt as though she had no compassion when she spoke to me. I told her I would wait a few minutes and I'd come back to see if the prescription was there. I went around sat in the parking lot for a few minutes. Checked my app and the app said the prescription was there and being processed. I pulled back up to the window to double-check and make sure the app was correct and Jennifer was there with another young woman. They saw me pull up. Jennifer went out of the pharmacy area to the front side of the register and the other woman preceded to check out Jennifer for a bottle of water. At this time they looked at each other and laughed which when you're not part of the joke feels like you're being laughed at. Then Jennifer came back into the pharmacy area and the young girl went on the other side of the register and Jennifer proceeded to check that worker out for a drink she was purchasing. They acted like I wasn't there when I know they saw me pull up. Jennifer then came over to the window and asked me for my child's date of birth and I told her I'm going to be waiting for the prescription I just wanted to let you know that it says it's being processed. She verified my phone number and said I would get a text when it was ready. I went into the parking lot and parked I checked the app again and it said it would be ready after 6:09 p.m. while I was waiting in the parking lot for over an hour my phone went dead so I was unable to receive a text message from Walgreens so I decided to pull up to the window for a third time at 6:15 p.m. to check the status of my prescription for my daughter. Jennifer, with a lack of compassion asked me for my daughter's date of birth again which I supplied and she proceeded to tell me that only the amoxicillin was ready and the ear drops were not ready yet. So I asked her if she could check on how much longer it was going to be until the ear drop prescription was filled. She left the window and came back and told me that they were out of the ear drop prescription. So I told her to please give me the amoxicillin so I could leave. She went and mixed the antibiotics came back and told me to have a nice day which I felt she did not mean at all. I think this woman needs to go back into training on how to treat people because this woman's bedside manner was non-existent. I have been with this pharmacy for 7 years and they go through pharmacy technicians like a perso goes through clean underwear. I also want to add by the time I got home and plugged my phone in so it could charge the only text message I received from Walgreens pharmacy was to tell me that my prescription was delayed. I did not receive a text message saying my amoxicillin was ready. I only received a text message that my prescriptions...
Read moreI went to this 24/7 location after work instead of my usual pharmacy just because it was late and still open. I’m the care giver of an elderly family member with dementia. We had run low on a medication that is weak enough to settle her while not so strong it gives her a hangover and confuses her more. Mostly it stops the constant yelling of repeated phrases that comes from the dementia and confusion. We had run out and the nurse that comes to the house called in some more even though it was not time for a the refill from the other prescription . . Despite my call ahead of time I was told they would not fill the prescription when I arrived. According to them it is a controlled substance in some states, a quick google search revealed this state was not one of them. I was surprised but was sure if I explained the situation this would be resolved. I was wrong.I did not appreciate the condescending tones directed towards me. I attempted to contact the nurse that comes to our home but she did not answer as it was late . This elicited some snarky comments from the pharmacist which angered me so I decided to leave as to not say something I would regret. The next day after I got in touch with the nurse and went to my pharmacy the pharmacist there apologized to me and told me I should’ve explained the situation to her. She should not have had to apologize to me at all. Either way she was not there and I did not feel I needed to explain anything to the nasty pharmacist from the 24/7 location, especially after when I started to explain I was scoffed at. Needless to say I will no longer visit this location for any...
