For starters we drive 5 hours round trip to eat here almost every weekend! We live in Charleston but come to Myrtle Beach almost every Saturday and always eat here! We have a love/hate relationship with this location because of the service, but the food itself is amazing!
They don't keep the buffet well stocked especially with basic pizzas and dessert pizzas, it's mostly specialty pizzas. I'll explain more below!
The first few times we came here the service was awful. Back when we started coming out server named Princess was AWFUL! She is the reason we refuse to order the buffet anymore. We gave her our pizza request and she never put it in. We told her again after flagging her down almost 20 minutes later, she said it should be coming up. Come to find out she never put in the order at all the first time. We set there for almost 45 minutes as we don't eat special pizzas like they had up there (salad pizza, and ones loaded with toppings) and everything else was gone, so we ended up leaving unfortunately. I had never done this before but I did tell them I didn't feel comfortable paying full price for both of us because total we only ate 3 pieces of pizza. I had never done that before, and I told them that. I said I'd paying something I just didn't feel like we should be charged full price and I explained what happened. He did take one of our buffets off. Which I do appreciate. I hated having to ask that but I really didn't feel comfortable paying full price for 2 buffets and a drink when we literally got no refills and ate 3 slices between 2 of us. Again I do appreciate it and hated I even had to bring it up.
The next time we went she asked if we wanted the buffet and I asked if they had any specials. They did! So we ordered the special which is 2 pizzas, 1 cheese stick, and 1 dessert pizza! Our server was nice and it was so much better! It was perfect for us!
The next several times we eat in and order to go we get the same special, we never got the buffet again after this!
We went last week and our server tried to say we can't get the special because it's to go only. I tried to explain to her that every time we have been here they let us. She said she'd go ask and she came back saying it was to go only and that the buffet would actually be cheaper. I told her we have had a horrible experience with getting the buffet and that we drove over 2 hours one way. I also told her we had been getting it for months inside and not just to go. She said she didn't want us to leave unhappy (which I do appreciate) and she went to ask again and they said yes we can. The food was great of course!
The reason for the 4 and not 5 stars is because it's very small in there (especially compared to Knoxville, TN location), they put more specialty pizzas up there (ex. Everything on it, salad pizza, breakfast type of pizza) they have a hard time keeping it stocked up especially the dessert pizza, and just a basic cheese and pepperoni, and depending on who you get as a waiter/waitress they never come back to your table literally. That's why we do the special because if not we won't be able to eat since they can't keep the basic pizzas on the buffet.

We weren’t seated promptly, our waitress took forever to get to our table, and I had finished my salad before she ever returned with our drinks. I asked my husband twice if he wanted to leave. There was old hard pizza stacked on the buffet that was still there when we left. You could hear them shouting back and forth to each other in the kitchen. We decided that there must not be a manager in the store. They wouldn’t put anything on the bar, even though you could see them stacking pizzas on the warming tray. We did request one pizza, but our waitress did not inform us when it was put on the bar like usual. When paying our bill to our surprise a manager checked us out. My husband told her that he didn’t think there was a manager on duty. She replied, “I just got here”. She didn’t ask if anything was wrong, come to think of it, she didn’t ask anything. Was pretty much ignored for a good deal of my wait. When they know you're dashing the service goes way down idk why they did that at the end of the day it's not hurting me its hurting the customer. Six different times I saw her food go everywhere except into my hands. Six employees worried about going home. They were willing to help you if you were a in store customer. Really interesting to see too concerned with going home then finishing up the orders. Anywho. Thank you because of you all my tip increased. What should have been a 12$ dash turned into $45 so thank you pizza inn staff for shafting a customer so hard that she went thru two dashers and a half hour wait on a tuesday night.
