The Pinball Museum of Corbin is an AWESOME place to visit. It certainly must be HEAVEN for any pinball enthusiast. Both the employees and fellow patrons are really friendly. The wide variety of machines on offer is absolutely stunning. There are so many new games, including quite a few CE games. He has so many new machines by various manufacturers, including Stern, Jersey Jack, Spooky, Pinball Brothers, and American Pinball. He also has many retro machines available. The owner is a really nice guy that strives to provide guests with a family-friendly place to dive right into all the nostalgic pinball goodness that their hearts can handle. I just wish this place was right down the street and not nearly a two-hour drive from my home.
You can also actually hear each machine at this location, which is something to be cherished. There is a bit of background noise still there, but it seems non-existent in comparison to your typical barcade or even the ridiculously loud modern arcades that litter so many tourist hotspots. You can barely hear yourself think in those type of places. By contrast, the Pinball Museum of Corbin is a tranquil spot where you can actually hear the unique sounds emanating from each incredible machine.
There's also a small standard arcade section that takes quarters and spits tickets, which may then be redeemed for prizes. Simply put, this place is not to be missed. The rates are incredibly reasonable for access to such a phenomenal collection. And for those nearby, I'd definitely take advantage of the options for yearly or monthly memberships. Hopefully I'll make a return trip to this wonderful...
Read moreAbsolute perfection. I had friends come in town from Northern KY area and living in berea I suggested we all try this place. All of us stepping in not knowing what we will see left us in complete shock with the nostalgia there. Amazing pin ball machines, retro arcades!!! Then on one side you have machines that take quarters. Does that pull you back? It shouldn’t. If you were not born in the 80s, go get a cup of quarters and live what the late 80s and mid 90s was all about!!!! This ain’t no modern arcade. It’s just really cool.
The only thing I would change looking from a business point of perspective would be this!!
Invest in a circle like lounge area with comfy chairs and have it to where people can sit in front of TVs and play Nintendo, GameCube, Atari and more. Bring a “ rent all you can play “ for 2 hours. Charge 10 bucks and as a treat for the consumers, add some cool retro artwork as a take home gift. Market this place! Beer would also be cool for adults only night after a...
Read moreFree looks? Yes, please. If you're not feeling like playing pinball but still interested in checking out the machines, you're welcome to just look around. And that's what I did, taking a half hour or so to appreciate these beautiful pieces of art and entertainment. Several of the machines have captions - probably as many as could be reliably researched - that explains their year of creation, the artists involved, and how many of this specific machine were created.
Pay once and play for a while. The pinball machines date back as far as 1969 and as modern as 2002. For $18, stay for as long as you like.
The museum offers yearly and monthly memberships, too. Or maybe you're just having a birthday party. Perfect, as they also have a food...
