I called and asked about their roof top dining. The lady was very polite and helpful explaining that the full menu stops at 9. I had told her that I plan to arrive at 9 therefore she suggested that I arrive before then. I also asked if there would be a cover charge and she told me as long as I arrived before 9 there would not be since the band did not start until 9. I arrived there at 8:50. The lady at the door checking ID's said that I would have to pay a cover charge. I explained to her that we there for dinner and the I had called and was told that there would not be a cover charge as long as I arrived before 9. She strongly stated that she did not know who I talked to but that they were wrong and they did not know what they were talking about. I refused to pay the cover charge and went next door to Shep's Place (My meal was exceptional and I will return there). This was a simple question and I received a frank answer. They need to get there employees on the same page! The lady at the door could have at least checked on who I talked to or something. She was just rude about it. The radio advertisement sparked my attention when it said late night dinner but I don't think I will try again because of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI took my wife there for our anniversary and we seated ourselves, then after about 20 to 30 minutes, nobody had brought us menus or asked us if we needed anything . Everytime I waved to a waitress they were clearly ignoring us while soliciting older guys tables serving them drinks. I got up and found us some menus, then I waited a bit and finally went to the server's station and got a gentleman's attention to make our order. After we ordered we waited for at least one hour for our food and drinks. I went and stood at the entrance to the kitchen to catch a server and ended up getting a cook's attention. He said my food had been ready for 30 minutes. So I got my food and the gentleman I had gotten attention of earlier got us something to drink. I was never approached to see if we needed anything. The food was good even though it wasn't hot, but my wife couldn't eat she felt so out of place she just wanted to go home. I still feel deeply saddened that she felt that way on her anniversary. I went to server station and pay got my bill and payed it and left. I don't know if they put a percentage for the servers on my bill and didn't look because I didn't want to know. I payed right at $60 for this experience. I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMan ol man where do I start. First off you can tell how much love and work the owners put into this place. Nothing is left untouched from the album covers on the stage, to rooftop patio, the outhouse inspired restrooms that are even better inside, great music and amazing food. Austin City Saloon should be a stop for anyone looking for a great time. Even if you are heading further south to Gatlinburg you need to make a point and stop in. The decor is over the top and the food matches how amazing the place looks. Garage doors open to the outside making the sidewalk/porch feel like its part of the inside. Every time I go I discover something I didn't notice before and tried a dish that is even better than the last. I highly recommend the Elk burger, the wings and the Grilled Chicken saloon salad. All amazing of course you cant go wrong with some mama tried cheese fries. Do yourself a favor and make the drive to see what is quickly becoming the hottest spot in...
