If I said that Seasons Restaurant was the best in Kentucky.....it would truly be an understatement. It is among the best value, most over the top culinary experiences in the country.......mixing highly textured Appalachian cuisine with good old fashioned southern comfort food. There is no local or regional comparison.....come expecting a made from scratch, made to order experience.......come hungry because the portions are gigantic.....come with people you love because it is a dining experience....an experience not to be waisted with impatience or bad company. The ingredients are top shelf.........nothing less than perfection makes it out of the kitchen. Nothing frozen.....ever....outside of the delicious hand scooped ice cream that adorns the perfect golden crust of the thickest most dynamic chunk of cobbler you have ever tasted. I have never been to a cleaner restaurant.....ever...........looking in.....the kitchen is as sterile as an operating room. The bathrooms are flawless and the decor stately, refined, exquisite...an experience alone.....vintage oil paintings, chandeliers and beautiful antique furnishings.....abound.....fit for Cornelius Vanderbilt himself. The cutlery and drinking glass was polished.....not even a water spot.....the servers polite, attentive and knowledgeable. On my multiple visits.....It has become among my favorite things.......more artistry than eatery. The owners personally puruse every dish for quality. If you are detail oriented and looking for a special place........don't miss this opportunity........and if you are in a hurry grab the chicken salad and soup.......if you are hungry.......the select, filet topped black salad.....finished with an impressive variety of farm to table vegetables, fruits and candied pecans....it is ridiculously satisfying. They are famous for their Kentucky perfect hot brown.....but they do everything on the menu so very well. You can't go wrong wherever your appetite takes you on their diverse menu..... in this one of a kind Kentucky treasure. Truly a place to be proud of.....a place that is a higher mark in the industry.....a unique life experience not to be missed.....with a chef who has set himself apart in everything that you crave. Read morePlanned a special, special day for my lovely wife & I to eat dinner together for Valentine's Day at Seasons. Several of our trips in the past had been good so we were looking forward to the special 4-course, Prix-Fixe menu (pic included). I made reservations and arrived on-time only to find our table wasn't ready...no biggie, they were busy as it was Feb 14th. So we waited patiently ~20mins and were seated. (a little long for having a reservation imo, but again it was Valentines so...) We were seated & given the Prix Fixe menus and placed our orders...2 apps, a main, & a dessert for $125 ...20mins later, the 1st app arrives...Lobster Ravioli & it tastes excellent! (pic included)! ...another 20mins (for an app?)...2nd app arrives...Tomatoe soup was good ...45mins later (not kidding...)...Main courses arrive...not warm or good at all tbh... instead its obviously sat until its now its served to us cold & literally clammy. To make matters worse, my Prime Rib (pic included)...center is gray (aka WELL-DONE) I inform the waitress that I had ordered it a Mid-rare when she had asked my preference...to which she promptly informed me that the kitchen is only serving it at that temperature...seriously!!!! & i have no choice in the matter ...literal 30mins later its dessert time (2h 15m after arriving) & ...she informs my wife they ran out of the Sea Salt Caramel cheesecake & she can have the Pecan pie...she hates pecans. Waitress says that is her only choice, even though the menu shows "Chocolate cake for 2" as a 3rd option. Wife asks if they can cut the cake in half for her since her preference was all out...& waitress says she can't?!...ffwd after haggling for 5mins or so the waitress concedes & brings her a half pc At this point it's +2.5hrs total and we have to rush to be back for the babysitter so we get the desserts to go
In summary - +2 ½ hours for a $125 dinner on Valentine's day. We got 2 good apps, cold mains, and an argument for a half pc of cake (when they ran out of the preferred). Was very disappointed as I was anticipating a special dinner night out together... Instead came away aggravated & rushing to get back to relieve the babysitter...Prob...
Read moreI decided that I would take my family out and eat locally tonight instead of going to Applebee's like we were thinking about... In my opinion we should have definitely went to Applebee's! For a restaurant that I've heard good things about this was a terrible experience! My food's presentation was lackluster. I'm completely unsure why they decided to garnish my plate with a orange but it destroyed the taste of my food! I ordered the chicken cordon bleu which is something I would normally get anywhere else. The first piece of chicken that I had ate tasted okay not hot not cold but okay. The ham that was over my food seemed to be lukewarm. When I got to the rice down at the bottom it tasted okay until I got a big old bite of the garnish when I was just trying to eat rice instead I got a big old bite of lettuce not sure about you but I don't want lettuce when I'm eating cordon bleu. When I got to my second piece of chicken it was Stone Cold and tasted nothing but oranges. When I decided to try the potatoes I had two that were decent and I stopped after I ate a raw potato. I'm 100% dissatisfied with my experience with this restaurant. The atmosphere at this restaurant needs updated it smells old and dingy as you walk in and just reeks of needing to be dusted! Do...
