How does this place get 4.5 stars? Confused. It's dark inside, that's okay for some I guess. Music not too loud. Weird table lamp thing is dirty. Place was quiet on a Tuesday night which should raise suspicions. No problem with server at all. FOOD: salad served in warm bowl. Okay though. Cajun Alfredo penne pasta. My wife said it was good. Very large portion so we took some home in a box. When you reheat it GENTLY the sauce turns to pure orange colored oil. I'm confused about this also. It was good but cannot be reheated. No point asking for a takeout box on this menu item. The chopped sirloin steak was completely devoid of flavor. I'm a fool for ordering it. You get old cold homemade deep fried chips not steak fries which again caught me out. This is not what people want. Onion rings totally bland and oily. The chef did not season that steak before cooking or afterwards. Didnt salt the onion rings. Maybe they expect people to smother the chopped steak with A1 sauce. So that's it...there is literally no good food in Corbin. Someone with half a clue as to what they're doing could make a lot of money here. I'm not rushing back.... P.S. $43 with 20% tip for 2, no starter or dessert. I've never in my life cooked beef as bland as that. Or eaten it made by anyone else. I was quite shocked to be honest. Why does no one in Corbin have the slightest clue how to run a restaurant? Please help me people, anyone know of any good place in Corbin now? Wah Weng Chinese but you must order a la carte and Mi Casa please start saving up your money. They are now expensive for Mexican school dinners. Corbin Food Sucktown. Update: Nov 2024. Soup warm. Toppings not even warm. Asked for soup to be heate. This took a long time. Server never checked back. There are 3 servers and about 4 or 5 tables. There's an issue with them chatting to each other and ignoring customers. They don't even scan the room. The entree was served as we were still finishing the soup. You guessed it, the food was just warm. The chargrilled shrimp on top of the dish was not even warm, room temp? There is no way there is a trained chef in there. The white wine pasta was not seasoned. Bland food. The Cajun Alfredo IS seasoned. $87 with tip for 3 people and its very hard to get a refill. You have to turn around and stare at the serving station for 4 minutes, all while your meal gets colder. I found this place irritating for the SECOND TIME. I took the first pasta dish home and once seasoned and heated, it was nice. The carrot slivers too hard. Some of the brocolli is raw, the rest mushy. In...
Read moreWe went here based on others telling us it's good, but found ourselves very disappointed. Waiter was kind and attentive. Fried green tomatoes are excellent but needs a better sauce. Tuna salad on brioche because they were out of croissants, it appeared to be combined in a processor and was very wet. I didn't eat any but was told it wasn't very good. Fries were outstanding, crisp on outside and soft inside...perfection...sad to say it was the only good thing. Caesar salad: I've never had one with mixed greens and wasn't impressed. The romaine lettuce was fresh but in large somewhat uncut pieces, grated parmesan rather than shaved, dressing was ok but vinegar based and not made in house. I ordered salmon for my salad but it was placed on top of my salad cooked below rare...nearly raw on edges and completely raw in center. I sent it back but was discouraged when told he had it put back on the grill. I am an executive chef, you don't ever do that and I would fire the employee that attempted to, you always refire. I couldn't stomach much salad after removing the fish. This place could use better quality control in back of house and possibly training on proper fish cookery. I don't think I'll...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences of my life. I knew the food smelled a bit off when the server sat it down in front of me, but I convinced myself it was the broccoli I was smelling. Because what restaurant would serve rancid food, right? So I ate a few bites and told my date I just wasn't very hungry. Awaking later, in the middle of the night, with food poisoning assured me it wasn't the broccoli. Not sending it back was stupidity on my part, but I didn't want come off like a snooty beoch and embarrass my date. Prior to this, the server tried to rush us through the meal, bringing salads immediately after appetizer and entrees immediately after salad, asking if we wanted to put in a dessert before we were even halfway into the meal. As if calling us "youins" multiple times wasn't bad enough. Chatting was difficult due to a group of loud, obnoxious drunks at the bar, who literally stumbled out the door in front of us when we left. Needless to say, I'll never be back in that place, and most likely will never be back...
