I have been a customer at Herbal Nails for about two years. They have consistently been able to accommodate walk in or last minute appointments (I typically go weekday afternoons around 3:30pm). Everyone is nice, and they are typically FAST - Iāve had a couple pediās that were finished in under 30 minutes. They have a great selection of colors, and a wide variety of pedicure packages to choose from - and the use of fresh cucumber and orange as part of the pedicure is refreshing and unique! They sometimes offer a complimentary water, juice, or even a mimosa, and they offer a discount if you pay cash. They are always super sweet to my daughter.
They could improve on a couple minor things. 1) The staff keep all of their personal belongings, drinks, and food out all over the place. It detracts from the ambiance of what should be a relaxing experience. 2) The staff can be rude to each other. They frequently bicker with one another in front of customers. It can be quite uncomfortable. 3) The staff can become defensive if you ask for something to be adjusted. The nails on one hand bubbled once, and the lady was initially defensive and tried to tell me the bubbles would pop and settle. She ultimately fixed them, but was visibly annoyed to do so. She appeared to complain to the techs around her⦠but I chalked it up to maybe just having a rough day. 4) When the techs get annoyed with customers, they sometimes complain to one another in front of customers. There may be a feeling that customers donāt understand what is being said because itās in another language, but body language is pretty universal. In all honesty, this has been the best salon Iāve been to in the Corona area! Overall, they truly are great. Every business has room to grow, and these are just some things I have thought could improve the atmosphere of this establishment.
My experience the other day, however, has me questioning if I want to return in the future, or look for a new salon. A lot happened in the more than two hours I was there. It was supposed to be a relaxing āmeā moment - a moment that I only get every other month or so. Instead, my cuticles were repeatedly insulted (at least a couple dozen comments), the one tech I have returned to a few times was berated in front of me, three techs ganged up to argue about a charge (and I wasnāt looking for a fight, just seeking to understand what was to me a new system of charges for future reference - but the three ladies argued amongst themselves and/or simultaneously explained their understanding of the charges to me for quite awhile)⦠It was just exhausting and depleting. My understanding was the woman was going to try to make things right by removing a $3 buffing charge, $7 gel polish removal charge, and give me a coupon for 15% off one service. Only the $3 buffing charge was removed. I paid $86 for a mani/pedi, and I realized when I got home the pedi is all bumpy. The nail beds were not buffed/smoothed after removing the gel (though I was told thatās what the $7 charge was for). Iām sure the manager would have made things right, but the whole experience was so frustrating that I just wanted to leave.
Was this one bad experience enough for me to not return? Possibly. I donāt want to walk in and be talked about by all the techs, as I have seen them do a number of times about other customers. But also⦠they truly have been great overall to me in the past....

I called over the phone to make an appointment and requested gel x $75 and a gel pedicure for 50$ . When I get there I was greeted and they were very friendly and welcoming . When the lady that was about to do my toe nails is asking me what package did I want to choose she only pointed the 75$ package I was thinking that was the only toe nails package because she didnāt point at any other I felt like that was the only ones they had so Iām thinking so why did the person over the phone said 50$ .I was only pointed to the most expensive package on their listing they have which I believe it was for the toes only like she mentioned since she said no this is only toes . I look at packages and all were 75$ packages okey so they should know that gel is what I wanted only for my toes which they can not go without communication in their language But due to the the lady who acted like she didnāt understand English I would believe they talk to each other and let each other know what is it that I wanted on my toes since they start to talk to each other in their language and I understood that the one doing my hand nails said that I wanted gel on my toes .and what is weird When checking in you input your number on mini tablet at entrances when check in is complete it shows the list of services your want to get done .So she didnāt disclosed that gel wasnāt with package that was on the 75$. So they charge extra 15.00 which added to $90.00 for my toes only ok so that was just my pedicure and for gel x is 75$ which Iām aware of it then Iām asked if I want my cuticles removed .. like yeah who wouldnāt ..it should be done when your putting fake nails but proceeds to tell me itās an 8$ extra charge just for that . Like whattt ??? Ok my nails were very simple no rhinestone and no design just glitter and a nude color . Total was $200.00 ridiculously overpriced .Honestly I been to Orange County nails places and with that price I get my nails all blinged out without getting charged for my cuticle removal and overtop work . lol . They are overpriced due to the beautiful place and customer service they have which is good but trying to take advantage of customers itās insane to me . My nails were not properly filed at the bottom and were very sharp hurting my daughter with a single scratch .Checking out I said why did she go with those packages if I had asked gel told front staff . And he said thereās this 50$ package and I said so why didnāt she disclosed that this whole time she made me believe only those packages is what they have for the feet . I donāt mind paying for what I asked and aware of paying for but donāt try to take advantage neither and that is a big NO on these types of businesses . Unfortunately, the color of the manicure on Monday had already faded. I went on Tuesday to see if they would see me, but I decided to make an appointment for Wednesday. I went to my appointment with the same person who did my manicure, a woman with completely silver hair whose name I don't know.
When I arrived, I noticed that she was angry, something I decided to ignore. She started to treat me badly, and ACCUSED ME several times of being the one who had removed the color. When she finished, she raised her voice and ACCUSED ME AGAIN of not āremovingā the color and she did it in front of the other employees and clients. To which I replied THAT I HAD NOT DONE IT and that it was NOT my first time at that place.
1.-Honestly, it is not the first time I have used Gelish, so I know exactly the duration and quality of the service I am requesting.
2.- I have NEVER had to go back anywhere to get my manicure done.
3.- They did NOT give me the service for free... I paid almost $100+ for a manicure and pedicure.
4.- I was very tolerant with this person because I have enough education and values, all clients deserve to be treated with respect, things that I did NOT get from this lady.
5.- SHE GAVE ME BAD SERVICE AGAIN, I asked for the off white color and she gave me a different one called Funny Bunny and I know that is not the color because my pedicure is a different color, the nail work was done wrong again and I decided to leave. Obviously because I do NOT have to tolerate the bad attitude of this lady or the mistreatment of anyone, I am an educated lady who is not going to argue with that type of people.
I had been to this place before and it seemed very good to me, they have excellent facilities, in the past they gave me an excellent manicure and pedicure service to my mother and me... but it is a shame that their employee treats the clients this way and it is of no use that the place is "VERY NICE" and it is even sadder that those who do a good job pay for just one unpleasant person.
