Just love HEB, and I have for almost 50 years. There's a reason they have almost zero competition in the grocery category. I've lived in other states (HEB is ONLY in Texas and a few places in Mexico), and I hated going to the store in all of them. Publix was the only one that came anywhere close, and I believe that was due to the fact that they were an employee-owned company (at least they were in 2000-2001âŚ). The only time I will choose Wal-Mart over HEB is for the drive thru pharmacy. HEB's is a cluster**. Inside pharmacies are about equal, and Walmart has electronics, sporting goods, tools and things like that. I will still go to HEB for groceries because the food and produce is far superior. This is difficult for me because I'm disabled and it is a lot of work to go to two different stores on the same trip. Biggest disability gripe about Walmart vs. HEB is the lack of handicapped parking spaces and electric carts at Walmart. They have parking, but it's usually farther away than some of the normal spots and Walmart has entire rows of unused curbside pickup spaces that can't be used by people with disabled stickers. It's like the parking lot at Walmart was designed by Corpus Christi's last few city planners. No idea what they were doing (fortunately for us, in the last few years our streets and other construction projects have been moving at a more rapid pace and are repaired quickly when issues arise). There are quite a few spots around Everhart on the south side that become giant potholes after the slightest amount of rain due to the clay content in the soil, and entire neighborhoods have homes with cracked foundations. I don't know how bad it is on the west side of 286(?), but it's always seemed to be built on firmer ground...
Read moreI went to the store spent what i spent ( ridiculious prices and you have no choice cause there is no where else basically ) , got home and grabbed the pacakged meat to put in freezer . As soon as i tore the plastic the smell hit me , the meat was rotten and i mean ROTTEN. I was livid because i remembred other times before i put the meat in the freezer without checking it first and after i cooked it days later the meat tasted different and ended up in trash. I called the store they told me to bring it back. So i drove there you selold me rotten mean and i have to drive back again?! So i did, went to meat department was told they were sorry and i have to go to the business center to get it returned. She " apologized" and refunded my money. I left to run an errand somewhere else and came back only to check if they removed all that rotten meat from that spot, and sure enough.! They DID NOT. They kept the ritten meat on the shelves to sell it to other ppl hoping no one figures it out! How messed up is that . I stopped buying meat from there , as a matter of fact, i only go there to get fresh parsley of little "fresh " things i cant get from sams . It is so disappointing to see all those signs of shop local and Heb this and heb that and see that they re no different than any other hungry business. I used to place online deliveries sonce i work late and have no time , every single time they being my stuff either they get me the wrong stuff , charge me more than what the prices i ordered cost , or get me spoiled items. I know for a fact that so many people are complaning of their horrible online services. Why do you hire incompetant ppl who cannot follow instructions? PEOPLE do NOT BUY...
Read moreUPDATE: I called the phone number that the HEB response team provided. Two days ago, HEB Customer Service said someone would reach out to me. Still hasn't happened. Original Comment: Disappointed that HEB is beginning to enact practices that seem questionable. When a product is advertised in store for 2 for $3, they should put a disclaimer that otherwise that buying one item is at regular price (much like Kroger and Tom Thumb do). Moreover, as seen in the images, it says price "after coupon," yet there are no coupons anywhere. When I get up to the register, I am charged full price for all three packages of sponges, which came to almost $7.50. So I went back into the store and took pictures of the product bin, which had no coupons anywhere attached to the bin. At the register, a supervisor was called over. I showed him pictures that clearly showed no coupons around the product bin. So he took over the register and refunded me $2 cash for only two of the products purchased. Before I left the store, I realized that I hadn't been refunded taxes on the $2. As he was in front of the store handling merchandise, I went over and told him that I was owed back sales taxes on the $2. He looks at me with disgust and says rather sarcastically,"So you want 15 cents back?" At that point, I was so frustrated with the entire experience that I left the store. Completely Unsatisfactory Customer Service, through and through. I suspect that, with HEB's expansion in North Texas, they're losing quality control over their sales promotions and personnel supervision, system wide. This is not the HEB I grew with. This experience was appalling for HEB, much less for...
