This place has roaches and I was paying almost $900 in rent and they wanted to raise the rent?! when I lived here someone broke into the show room right below me & when I was moving out some people cut the lock I had on my Uhaul truck with bolt cutters, broke in to my truck & RUMMAGED through every single box and probably stole from me. Luckily I didn’t have much of value in there as I EXPECTED that to happen after getting to know the area; i even had an extra lock already bought as I literally predicted my uhaul would get robbed b/c this complex is frequented by vagrants, criminals and who knows who else. there is NO outside gates, NO cameras and NO security of any kind and I never felt safe here. I had to call the cops on several occasions; all separate from the incidents I already mentioned in this review. These apartments are ran by people who don’t care. Do not sign anything here. They also sent me to debt collection because they didn’t bother to even ask me what my new address would be in order to charge me a deposit in which I don’t even think I paid when I first signed the lease, because I thought they had a $0 deposit special when I moved in. They are lazy and collect money this way; by having a special for no deposit, then asking for this deposit back that was never even paid for to begin with. I even visited the front office before moving out, asking if there was anything I had to do before moving out. they could have taken this opportunity to ask me about my new address or even told me about the deposit they would make me pay. instead, they are lazy and let everything fall to the debt collectors because they can’t get off their phone and...

A week before I moved out, I arrived to the apartment after a long day at work to find out the maintenance guy had been in there and stolen my laptop, fishing equipment, cleaning supplies, and checkbook. After complaining to the apartments manager she insisted that it was no big deal and after about half an hour of back and forth she said she would “reimburse me” for the fishing supplies… as if the money was the issue at question. I told the maintenance guy that I would press no charges if he returned my stuff and he brought back my laptop and some fishing stuff. The apartments manager then refused to give back some money from the deposit that she claimed it was for carpet cleaning even though I had paid for shampoo and cleaning of the carpet myself before turning in the apartment. It seemed as if she was doing it as retribution for the incident as if it was my fault that the maintenance guy had stolen my stuff. I believe the reason she was so defensive is because she told the maintenance guy to go check if I had moved out and since the apartment was 80% empty because I was already moving out they assumed I left and left that behind but the lease was not up so they had no business being there. I moved into Sutton Place as my first apartment ever and I have to say I was pleased. My neighbors were very nice, respectable. The maintanence was just about ALWAYS on the work you needed the second you asked. I also really enjoyed the front staff. The only reason I knock a star off is the roaches and the birds that seemed to have almost lived in the walls of my building. The week to week basis of calling the office to have pest control out to my house was a nuisance to say the least, the one man would come out spray down my kitchen and my front closet. That was it. Even when they said he was to do a DEEP CLEAN he still spend five minutes going through the cabinets and the closet the same way he had before. Not sure if it was just my apt he was going through so fast but yeah. Then the birds, I did put in one complaint maybe 4 months in but really didn't expect them to do much seeing as though they can't exactly control animals but they were always scratching at the walls and chirps and stupid hours of the night.
