South Texas Ice House Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

Close to home and bartenders are the best....nice little cozy atmosphere....live music on weekends is a big plus....the food is also outstanding....try the wings...(this review is for June 18 of 2022... What I said 3 years ago still stands as I think that South Texas ice house is still a great place to go)... However the young hispanic girl who was bartending around 430 6/18/22 is not cut out to be a bartender... Didn't even say hi how can I help you or welcome or anything.... And then when I ask her if she was going to say something she actually got a little aggravated.... Brandy Yvonne and a lot of the other gals that have worked there or still work there are some of the best bartenders.... This girl is nowhere in their league and she needs to find another job or at least polish up her people skills...I will for sure go back but I will certainly request another bartender....if she is the only one I will come back some other time....you go to a bar for the drinks, the atmosphere, and the service....not for a bad attitude...

This was a cool spot. The inside had plenty of seating and space. Had pool tables and some dart boards to play. Lots of TVs and Screens to catch all the games. They had a live DJ the night I went was cool a good mix of music, something for everyone. A big open area infront of the DJ/ Band stage for people to dance. The service was good. The drinks as good as most places. The food I gave a 3 stars because I didn't have anything big just had some chips and salsa & queso. The queso was really good nice spice to it. However the salsa wasn't the best nor even close. Was hot like a Serrano but really watered down. Not sure if it was just a bad batch. But definitely not good. I guess you cant expect the best coming from a sports bar.

Bartender on shift today 23 May (yvonne, don't know last name )needs training on how to treat customers who are not as young as she is.Said a couple of things I didn't appreciate.I also am at fault for saying something that I shouldn't have said.I apologized twice to her.Never got an apology for things she said to me.I have attended this bar for years,took a break for a few years and just started going back to visit.I know Christine well and she is a great bartender and person.Not trying to get Yvonne fired just don't feel comfortable spending my money here...
