To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a deeply troubling and humiliating experience I recently had at your store. What I experienced was not only unprofessional but felt like outright racial profiling. I came to the store to pick up a water heater that my wife had already purchased online, and the order was confirmed as ready for pick-up. When I approached the customer service counter, the associate assisting me (Employee ID: KAF2A16) displayed an unwelcoming attitude from the start. Despite this, I remained courteous, retrieved the water heater, and even asked if I needed any additional paperwork before leaving. She clearly told me, “No, just go ahead and walk out through this door.” Following her instructions, I began loading the water heater onto my truck. At that moment, another employee, Tracy, came running out into the parking lot, yelling at me in front of other customers and demanding I show her my receipt. Keep in mind the service rep told me I didn’t need one. She treated me as if I were attempting to steal the item, despite the fact that I had followed the process I was explicitly told to follow. This public confrontation was completely unnecessary, humiliating, and degrading. I was left embarrassed, disrespected, and feeling like I had been profiled and singled out for no reason. No paying customer should ever be treated like a criminal simply for following staff instructions. This experience has left me unwilling to ever return to this location, and I intend to share this unacceptable treatment with others. I expect this incident to be taken seriously, reviewed, and properly addressed. I also request a formal response outlining what corrective actions will be taken to ensure no other customer has to go through such an experience.

Kinda bummed. I was at my lunch hour and saw the Husky 52-15 Drawers Combo Version 4 tool storage unit listed for $798. I did not inquire on the spot since I do not have a vehicle to transport this. I went online to purchase and it was listed at the non sale price for $1098. First I went online and went into a chat with Home Depot and they told me to contact the stores customer service line. I then called customer service at the store that I saw the listing (2300 Harbor Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92626) I was then put on hold three times and each time I was disconnected after waiting each time sometimes 15min. I finally was able to contact them and they went to check on the unit in question and told me that it is now listed at $1098 today Sat. I was there on Thursday and it was listed as $798 and there was nothing showing that it was for a limited time or anything about the details of the offer. I shop at Home Depot all the time. I was surprised by the lack of customer service but really bummed about the price switching. Is this common practice? From what I have read online: California Business & Professions Code Section 12024.2 BPC When more than one price for the same commodity is advertised, posted, marked, displayed or quoted, the person offering the commodity for sale must charge the lower of those prices.

One of the worst experiences ever had with Home Depot, Don who works here said to me he is busy and can not help me, he try to find another guy to help me more than 20 minutes!!! But my job is only takes 30 seconds to do!!! When I talked to store manager Jeff, he said that he can not help me and I should wait for him until he find out free time, Don was sitting at his chair and laughing for whole time than when I trying to do that job by myself he came to me so rude and do it , it’s just one cut and they wasted my time more than 45 minutes for it, if Don and Jeff don’t want yo work why they are not staying at home and send them their paycheck, it’s more helpful for use as customers

Home Depot pitched us and sold us on a beautiful kitchen with a FIVE (5) day job with a quote of almost $23,000. What we got was a terrible job by the 1st crew of 5-6 men, that required a complete tear down by the 2nd crew of 1 man, who stated to us, “THEY DIDN’T FOLLOW THE PLANS”. This cluster of a job took up 8 days and another 5 days for the correction. A massive inconvenience that required I EMPTY out my cabinets & PUT EVERYTHING back….. TWICE.

After the 1st crew left we discovered many issues:

-DOORS: had wrong size hinges causing doors to swing wide open hitting wall, hitting each other, hitting fridge. Several side by side doors didn’t align. One was ¼ inch lower than others. Several doors were installed crooked. One door had a sharp corner edge. Looked to me like it may have been dropped. -DRAWERS: TWO sets when in the open position hit. -HANDLES on Doors & Drawers: were installed crooked; Vertically and Horizontally. -GOOP DROPLETS & Dust – was dropped all over top of fridge, stove top handles, wall panel & microwave -STOVE knobs were NOT covered up – Now I have issues with front right burner. -WASHROOM DRYER Machine got pushed too far back into the wall and kinked the gas line. -CABINET GLASS DOORS REPLACED 4 doors w/ glass were changed to solid wood/material - But shelves were not installed on one. -CABINET SHELVES/WALLS/CEILING/COUNTERS/APPLIANCES, Dust & Debris left everywhere. -HOLES Were left in frames where old hinges were removed because new holes were drilled to install the new hinges in the new location. (leaving a tacking and unfinished look with holes) -PIECE OF WOOD CUT SHORT – a 90 inch long strip of wood – at one end was cut short, about 1/4 inch too short and the gap was filled with white calking, and at the other end a extra piece of wood (like a tail) was not cut right and not even sanded down.

Our opinion was that at least 90% of the job would need to be corrected. (how that 1st crew thought that was a satisfactory job is shocking to us!). ONE month later the supervisor finally came to see the 1st job, she decided the ENTIRE job required COMPLETE tear down and redo.

Because the local team gave me the run around, I also was writing emails to the CEO & other HD executives. We received a letter from HDHQ asking us to first sign an agreement that contained language that we not share our experience on social media, and an offer of $1,000 that would follow. How generous of them. I DECLINED.

For information purposes, here is a list of the people with whom we dealt:

  1. Max Russo, Sales Consultant
  2. Joshua Rosales – Installation Specialist – who told me he services Orange County and Riverside areas.
  3. Nick Acedo Builders – I was told dispatches the crews to the different jobs. I believe the Co is out of the LOS ANGELES COUNTY. He NEVER reached out to us.
  4. Acedo Builders sent Jose Sandoval of New Vision Home Improvement Inc., License: #1119528, 323-807-1324 who managed the 1st crew of 5 or 6 men. TOTALLY SUCKED!
  5. Cassie Daringer, HDIS interior coordinator – hard to reach & not very good at returning calls, and wasn’t much help.
  6. Leigh Keller, District Installation Manager – finally came to see the bad job, and finally recommended the ENTIRE JOB BE REDONE. Said she would send Paul their “BEST GUY”. (why didn’t we get him to begin with?)
  7. Paul of NICASITO BUILDERS (was the 2nd crew of 1 man)
  8. Amir Sarofiem, Branch Installation Mgr. OC/Inland Empire region - (was trying to offer us another $1,000 that we also declined).

Now I am left with 4 projects; Repair our burner, Paint the wall panel, Clean all walls of dust, Patch up or replace the chipped tyle.

NOT...

The only reason I'm giving this Review 5 stars and not 1 is because of one their Employee named Melissa. This Review should have been done in April, but a recent bad visit at Santa Ana Home Depot reminded me to do it. Went to this Home Depot in mid April to get some pieces of wood cut for a project my brother in Law was doing. We get there and start going through our options, and we actually get asked if we need help right away. We explained our situation that we would need some sheets of wood cut. We get instructed to go to the cutting area and that they would be there to help personally. We got our sheets of wood quickly and went straight back following the gentlemen. Once we get by the cutting station they seemed scared as we approached to get help cutting the wood. They quickly found something else to do, and avoided trying to help and left us there for about 10 mins. We were getting tired of waiting so went out looking for help ran into a worker (forgot his name) that was just getting off work but still helped by calling Melissa over to us. He informed me that she usually cuts the wood as some men there don't know how to handle the machine or are just scared to cut wood. Was also told she doesn't get enough recognition in the department for bein a woman even tho she pretty much runs it by herself, and we saw that to be true as we had seen her helping someone else as we came in near the front of the store. Melissa was a professional and quick to follow our instructions as we were making adjustments to our cuts as we went along. We had 2 separate confusing cuts and she ended up fixing our problem to our cuts to make sure it was perfect for our project and that we would save enough wood to be useful for other projects. The Santa Ana Home Depot ended up not helping us until almost 30 mins after we requested help. When they did help they messed up our sheets as we wanted our cuts in a different angle and it seemed the worker just wanted to finish and didn't care that it was bad and left as soon as we told him we would be back with another piece, to our surprise another 15min + for another worker to help. Compared to the Santa Ana Home Depot, this Costa Mesa Home Depot was way better ONLY because of Melissa. In a job where men usually get the recognition for being stronger.. Melissa blew me away with her great customer service, enthusiasm, knowledge and Confidence. I usually don't write essays for reviews but she deserves the recognition and I really hated my recent Santa Ana Experience, they need a Melissa...

Home Depot has quoted me a certain price for flooring and the day Carpet Pros came to install said home depot measured wrong and that they did not have enough material to finish the job. so i had to order more wood and then reschedule install for a second day after i moved all my furniture for the workers to work. Also so now the quote they originally gave me was now $700 more because They Home Depot measured wrong. The inconvenience they have put me through is absolutely unprofessional. The estimate they gave now was $700 more then original . So not happy but i went into home depot and paid it. Then the material i needed was not in stick so i had to wait another 3 weeks for it to come in. so i did. meanwhile my house was in absolute shambles. so the day comes for the second day we had to install with carpet pros and the guy gets here and i point out a mistake that needed to be fixed (4 planks needed to be fixed) and he began to argue with me. i said please just fix the mistake. His boss Sam got involved and they finally said ok to fixing the mistake. Now as he went to start the stairs which we now have purchased MORE product for he begins to say he will not be able to do it without me paying more money. I spoke to home depot and said I am not paying more money AGAIN. This is more then infuriating . They now are telling me they need to lay more plywood before doing the stairs , All the sudden i need plywood now which is going to cost me more money. I have never felt more taken advantage of then by Home depot. i was furious they actually wanted more money. The month prior when they had 4 men here from carpet pros how then did they not tell me i needed new plywood on stairs before doing the stairs. I called Home Depot and spoke to Jenny a supervisor for special projects for flooring and she said i needed to pay More money . I told her no way that is not happening again. She then proceeded to call the worker from carpet pros that was at my home working and told him to “leave the job”. im sitting here with my house a mess and nothing completed. I have been taken advantage of by home depot and scammed. from the original quote being no where near what Ive paid thus far and then to stop the work all together and they have my money for the job. this is absolutely disgusting and ...
