Not quite ready for prime time. We came around noon on a Sunday. After waiting in a line that went out the door, we came to the counter and were told that they only had the cajeta churro dip, no chocolate. I ordered and paid for a hot chocolate with water, no milk. At the pickup window they told me they didn't have the hot chocolate with water and asked me to pick something else. I ended up getting the cafe de olla which is just okay. Maybe they're just not ready for prime time yet here but to run out of chocolate dip by noon and to sell a drink they didn't make leads me to believe this location isn't serious. Perhaps will try again on a weekday. On a positive note the churros have a nice crunch and chewiness inside. Everything is served in paper and there's some outside seating...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place! Disappointing, I ordered one single churro and I was given a bag with 7 broken churro bits/scraps. As I saw the woman tossing these broken pieces in cinnamon sugar. I told her: what a sad bag, I don’t want that; I wanted one of the fresh churros she had sitting next to cinnamon sugar bin. She shrugged and avoided eye contact. Inferior product, very disappointing, it was very dry and some of the ends were overdone. I also had there arroz con leche flavor of the month milkshake and was pretty shocked at the consistency- it was not creamy or thick, it was like a runny soup, I don’t know how you can call that a milkshake. I would not order the churros or the milkshakes again. I would however come back for the hot chocolate which is...
Read moreI had a mixed experience at this store. The shop itself was great, with such a wide variety of items that it really reminded me of Mexico. It was fun to browse through everything they had to offer. However, I was let down by the churros. They were just okay, which was disappointing because I had high expectations. They did not cut them evenly. Honestly, Disneyland's churros are much better. It might have been an off day for them since the staff making the churros seemed uninterested and not very welcoming. The one exception was the lady at the cash register, who was friendly and helpful. Her kindness was a bright spot in the visit. I’d go back for the atmosphere and selection of goods, but I’d probably skip the...
