Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Costa Mesa

I am outraged by the lack of attention to detail at this location. Like any other day, I placed my mobile order for a chicken bowl prepared just the way I like it. The order was delivered via postmates, & as my husband watched our toddler I decided to take a shower before I sat down to enjoy my first meal of the day (being a parent to a toddler keeps me quite busy). To my unpleasant surprise, I find the order completely botched. I always get chicken bowl with white rice, no beans, fajitas, all 3 salsas, corn, lettuce, and cheese. Instead I had in front of me, a bowl full of black beans but NO rice with the rest of the ingredients. You can understand my frustration! I drove all the way down to get my order corrected. Once I got there, I asked to speak to someone about my online order, I complained, and only to find that the manager in charge was not apologetic at all. She did offer to remake it. I opted for that option as I still haven't eaten anything all day and was really looking forward to my chipotle! After several minutes of waiting, she sends someone else with my order, I took it and left. Thinking it can't be faulted again. I get home, and this time the fajita bell peppers are completely RAW and my salsa was MIA. DISAPPOINTED I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW. I EXPECTED BETTER FROM A CHAIN OF RESTAURANT THAT I HOPED WOULD CARE ABOUT ITS...

Food was overall really good. Got myself a steak bowl. The issue with the service was that when I asked for red sauce, I mistakenly thought they'd put it in a container or at least put it to the side of the bowl so I could add it as I wanted. Nah, they straight up covered my food in it. There was as much beans as there was red sauce. Now, I wouldn't mind normally as I like mexican red sauce. Problem is, there is NO WAY that is normal red sauce. I don't go to Chipotle very often, so idk, maybe that's just how hot their red sauce is. However I doubt that. It was THE HOTTEST mexican red sauce I've ever had. I love spicy food, so this wasn't TOO big an issue. But it was hotter than the hottest wings at every wing place I've gone too. As hot, if not a LITTLE lower, than HOT/SPICY levels at Asian restaurants. If I had it on the side this wouldn't have even been an issue. I wish they had asked how much I would have liked, before just plopping a bunch of it all over my food. No idea if they messed with the recipe or something cuz NO WAY that's how it normally is

Still, good food and enjoyed the lemonade. 8/10. Would go again when...

I come to this Chipotle pretty often and honestly it’s like a little gamble every time depending on who’s working if Larissa’s on the line I brace myself she moves fast like she’s in a burrito speed competition but she’s got this intense energy like if I ask for extra rice she might stab me with the spoon her portions are so tight I feel like I’m being judged but then there’s David absolute legend this man builds burrito bowls like he’s feeding a family of six for Thanksgiving he loads it up with love and meat and when I go to pay it’s somehow way less than I expect it’s like I’m getting a secret discount for being cool or hungry idk all I know is Chipotle better give David a raise or name a salsa after him or something because he’s carrying this place with that golden scoop
