Food Smiths — Restaurant in Cottage Grove

I’ve known these two for a long time, so it came as no surprise when they opened up a food truck! I stopped by today to grab breakfast for myself, my boyfriend and stepson. The boys had the biscuits and gravy and they both absolutely loved it! I had the french toast and it was soooo good!! I never would have thought to encrust french toast with bacon and that idea is genious! We got the marionberry spritzer and hibiscus lemonade for drinks. I enjoy hibiscus anything so I thought it was yummy and the toddler said the spritzer tasted like strawberry, so that was a definite win lol. Being parked at the farmers market is perfect because I was able to kill time while I waited by doing some shopping in the farmers market.

The lady helping me was so so sweet, gave me some recommendations as well as a drink and hot coffee while waiting for my food. I dont remember the name but we got a turkey bacon sandwich on rye, with smoked swiss that was GREAT. Also a breakfast burrito with a side of homefries. It came with their homemade sauce they grind themselves and a couple good hot sauces! We got Mac and cheese for our 2 year old. There was a TON of food, the bag was so heavy. First time coming here and it’s a Sunday - they were busy! So the wait was a while, but the kindness of the staff and the eating/waiting area made it go by fast. My family is a mix of vegan/gluten free diets and we were all accommodated with many options! Brought the food back home (about a 15 minute drive) and it was so hot, fresh, and ABSOLUTELY delicious! We found a new favorite spot. Gratitude to the amazing staff and whoever made the wonderful menu. We will be back again and again...
