Game On — Local services in Cottonwood

Cottonwood & the Verde Valley are incredibly fortunate to have a unique store like Game On available. You can find creative, thought provoking, and endlessly entertaining gifts among their selection of all things "Game". They've got the game store standards - collectible card games, comics, miniatures, paint supplies, and a great selection of D&D stuff. Additionally you can find puzzles, STEM oriented toys and kits, a huge variety of board & card games including classics like Monopoly and many fresh 'Board Game Revolution' options like Sheriff of Nottingham, Ticket to Ride, and Azul. A whole section of the store is set up for Warhammer. On top of all that you can find great prices on video games & consoles, cute 'themed' stuffed animals, and loads of nick knacks that kids love. If all that wasn't enough to have you thinking, "wow, I really need to go support this store," then you really need to get some PLAY in your life! And you can do that, AT Game On, in their event room! Magic the Gathering tournaments and weekly events, an open Dungeons & Dragons campaign, learn-to-paint sessions, and more to come. Really... this place is amazing. If they could get a food truck parked outside and pick up a liquor license they might just have to change their name from "Game On"...

Everything is at a market price which is understandable. Although the covers and artwork to these games can have very obvious flaws or scratches which SHOULD devalue the game. Overall, the store isn’t as good at the Prescott valley location regarding the “experience” although it’s better than a GameStop. My main problem is with the “jaymes (he/him)” employee. This GUY has the worst attitude every time I go in. I finally decided to write a review about it. this guy needs to work on customer service, learn to smile and talk like you enjoy your job. It’s like he loathes talking to people. I show respect being in someone’s store, but when I feel disrespected by the employee, I naturally talk back. Especially when I have my gf with me and he tries to treat her like she’s dumb. All of the other...

Marci and James are great staff so plus one star. Most Lorcana TCG singles(rare and higher) are at 300% markup or more. There is a markup for sealed as well. If I could make a suggestion, remove the restaurant door to the play tables and either leave it open or install a door that can stay open so people can see the action. How else are you going to grow a community when people don't even know others are playing games there? It looks like an employee only door. Bonus: prize support has been pretty decent for league and events.
