I called yesterday and spoke with Drew. I needed to trade in my remote for a new one using the warranty. He informed me I needed to bring the entire console in and trade it in. He said that was the policy. I have had warranty on other consoles and trading in the remote has never been an issue. He was very dismissive and not very helpful. I usually get great customer service with GameStop. Friendly helpful employees. I called the 1800 number and it escalated my frustration even further. First, the associate insisted on scanning my husband’s ID — which is invasive and unnecessary for a warranty exchange. Then, instead of giving us a new replacement, we were handed a used controller in return. On top of that, the associate was rude, dismissive, and even invaded my husband’s personal space without saying excuse me. When there are a few people in the building the staff acts as if your an inconvenience to them to help you. Sorry my question is more important then your personal conversation. And when it is busy you can tell they can't handle a crowd.
