This store used to be decent. The management of the store has fallen far in recent years. Two recent experiences:
A month or so ago, I went in for bolts for a home project. The hardware aisle was a disaster - it was like a child had been playing in the bins, mixed up sizes, and no one had bothered to take the time to re-organize. It was nearly impossible to find what I needed. Asked an employee for help and they tried but admitted everything was mixed up and it was obvious they were frustrated with the situation.
Went in last week for some siding. Online it showed 60 panels available. When I got to the store there were no panels on the shelf. I asked for help (it took 30 minutes to get help - I had to go to a cashier because no one was around the lumber area for the 10 minutes I looked. The cashier (Charles) paged someone to come help me, but no one came. Then Charles got a manger involved (Jordan), who wasn't friendly and did help but seemed unhappy about it. Finally a lumber associate showed up). The helpful lumbar associate looked out back and came back apologetic -= they didn't have any and he said he would let management know. The whole experience took an hour and was fruitless. The cashier (Charles) was amazing and really wanted to help. It's a management failure - this store needs a reboot. I will not return until I hear better things are happening.
I left and drove to the Madison Lowes. I was greeted by employees wanting to help me find what I needed (no one offered to help at the Home Depot) and while I was loading the siding, a different Lowe's employee came over (without me having to ask) and helped me with the 4 X 8s.
Guess where I will be going for the foreseeable future? Night and Day...
Read moreI'm just going to be blunt and say ... Normally when we go into either Home Depot or Lowes , I absolutely CRINGE when someone asks to help. They end up asking more questions than helping, they distract more than anything. I end up finding everything myself as they are looking for answers.
Now I need to say .. my husband and I came into your store today. He needed the oddest screws, plastic... wing nut, thumbscrews, all odd with odd sizing. When an employee came up and I immediately cringed as she asked to help us. We said yes anyway.. lol. .. and I was VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED by a woman named Merna. She was very kind and helpful. She answered EVERY question. She knew where EVERY piece was. She even knew all the other things on our lists and their EXACT LOCATIONS ! I hope whoever reads this review will at the VERY LEAST give her some sort of accolade. She's amazing. She's not the typical employee ..there, lost , ' that's not my specialty .. or department '. She knew everything.
I'm giving your store all the stars I can for this experience. She's a gem.
Unfortunately for her though , every time I need help I'm Looking for her...
Read moreI don’t normally write a bad review but with my experience this weekend I thought I should. We hand an emergency with our remodel and my husband needed to stay and work so I went to this store location with my three children. I was loading large sheets of lumber and my oldest kiddo was trying to hold the cart so it wouldn’t move around. Many employees walked right past me. A fellow shopper grabbed an employee and they both helped me load. Thank you to the shopper that saw a need and stepped up. I asked that employee if he would continue to help me as I wasn’t familiar with where things were and I had other large items (more lumber and window) and could use help loading. He then told me what isle I could find the window in and walked off. I had this happen at-least 3 more times. Not one employee would follow completely through with my visit. I had a list from my husband that with help locating and loading could have been a far less stressful trip with some help. I’m disappointed in the lack of...
