I brought my wife to the Mane Event, first to discus the problems she has been having after going to various hair styling establishments. No matter where she has gone, she has left horribly disappointed. I thought we would first go the the 'Mane Event' just to speak with someone about these repeated disappointments, hoping to receive a guaranteed confirmation that the same thing would not happen to my wife there. One of my wife's major complaints, particularly from the last place to which she went, was that her ends were so terribly jagged and uneven. The lady from the Mane Event said in no uncertain terms that this would absolutely not happen in their shop, saying words to the effect that their owner is a stickler about the quality of their work. The lady told us to come back later in the afternoon to see Lisa, who could more than be trusted with regard to her ability as a hairstylist. So we went back later, as we had been advised to do. I left my wife there briefly in order to stop at another store. When I returned, she was unsure even at that point how she felt about what had been done to her hair at the Mane Event. She mentioned to the hairstylist that one of her issues was that her hair kept falling forward, onto her face. The stylist surprisingly replied, "So if it falls it falls". After all that had been done, my wife's ends are possibly worse now than they have ever been, which was exactly what she was promised would not happen. Lisa had advised her to use bobby pins, which is just what she had been doing before trying to rectify her issues by way of a good haircut. So, $50 and a $10 tip later, all continues as badly as it was before our visit to the Mane Event. I really dislike leaving negative reviews, as I believe these places (for the most part) do try their best to do a good job. But when I hear how constantly my wife is complaining about this haircut, I feel that I must at least speak out on her behalf. Her frustration is off the charts. Again, I am so sorry for the negative review; but at the same time I feel it would be inappropriate to just let this pass without some commentary. I am not looking to get anyone in trouble, but I do believe that this information should be...
Read moreI recently got a haircut again and wanted to share my thoughts about both times I've been here. The first time was a 2-star experience. My hairdresser came highly reviewed and so my expectations were high. She cut my face-framing layers as if I had a center part, when I had a side part (which she confirmed), so they didn't fall correctly. Also, she was constantly distracted talking to her friends. Not the greatest service. In contrast, the second time was a 5-star experience! Unfortunately, I forgot the stylist's name, but I hadn't asked for someone based on a review that time. I got whoever was available. And she was fantastic! I had a mullet from trying to cut my hair based on a YouTube tutorial during the height of the pandemic. She fixed it and layered my hair beautifully! She took her time, and she was focused and friendly. Overall, although I've had mixed experiences here, this place is clean and the price is right. This is the only salon in the area I know of that allows you to get a haircut without a $30 blowout. I like that no-heat option, especially in the summer months when I can let my hair air dry in the warm breeze.
Update: I recently had my hair cut again here and luckily enough got the same amazing hair stylist as last time! Her name is Melissa and she is a PRO at layers and blowouts. I couldn't be happier with...
Read moreShaved a chunk of my hair off. I was told it was “uneven” but didn’t know the extent of the problem until I got home to see that my undercut was very screwed up. My hairdresser told me to “grow it out” but it would take years for the missing hair to grow the length of my long hair. I will have to go to a barbershop and have them raise the undercut. Won’t be back. Edit: That is absolutely not true and I’m very well aware that I reviewed the right shop. I’m not sure who told you that my hair was uneven when I arrived but that was a lie. And I don’t appreciate being told I’m wrong instead of some semblance of an apology. My appointment at Mane Event was for 6 o clock Dec. 23rd and I came in asking to take 3 inches off my length and a trim for my grown out undercut. Which was long but an EVEN line. Not to mention, had I gone to the salon to fix the mistake, nothing was done to blend it out or even it out on the other side. So claiming I had gone to fix the mistake...
