They give you free fries if you give them a 5 star review. Expect the restaurant's reviews to not be accurate. Pretty dishonest way to get good reviews for a new restaurant. For me, a restaurant that doesn't earn their 5 star reviews in an honest manner automatically deserves a 1 star. And that's what I'm giving them.
The employees and owner trash talk about you behind your back in Korean thinking you can't understand them.
Chicken was not as good as the other Don Chicken restaurants in other locations. I assume they use the same sauces and same recipes but execution was substandard. Poor seating arrangements.
Response to owner: The score I gave to the restaurant was not based off the fact that you don't have half chicken. I gave the review I did because I believe it's a dishonest business practice to artificially boost your restaurant's reviews by bribing customers with free food. The fact that you're willing to buy fake five star reviews but you struggle to accept one honest review speaks volumes about the business.
And if you're going to eaves drop in a conversation, at least get your story straight. I was the one looking around the store for a garbage can asking my friend if he sees a garbage can. I was the one asking him if the restaurant was a self service restaurant or if the staff clean the tables because we couldn't see a garbage can anywhere. Your restaurant's atmopshere was made it pretty clear that it was supposed to be a self service restaurant but you don't provide a garbage can within the premise? Do you expect all your customers to just use the garbage can in the side walk? Is that even legal within Cranford's bylaws?
When you asked about how the food was, I answered exactly how I meant it. The food was okay. It's just alright. I like the Don Chicken in Palisades Park better. Because it is better. That's not sarcasm. It's simply the truth and how I felt. That's about it. What more do you want? Did you want me to tell you honestly how I was surprised that your franchise took what was a great restaurant and somehow screwed it up so badly? That I normally preach to all my friends how good the Don Chicken is and was disappointed that the new location isn't even remotely close to being as good as the other locations? How could a franchise be so much worse than the others when it should be the same recipes?
Either way, you get the score you deserve. Trash talking customers within earshot already warrants you a 1 star for service, you get a 1 star for bribing customers for fake reviews and your mediocre Korean fried chicken can't...
Read moreThe most disappointing Korean fried chicken I have ever had and some the the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I got a large boneless soy garlic wing and a small sweet and spicy bone in wing order. The sweet and spicy wings were great, doused in sauce and wonderful. The soy garlic had the smallest amount of sauce on the bottom of the box, the wings weren’t covered at all. I went to the restaurant again to request a small side of sauce since my wings were essentially plain crispy chicken. The worker refused and said they couldn’t give out any extra sauce. I explained that I received my wings plain. He said the soy garlic is just a glaze and that it’s their own recipe at this franchise so they can’t give it out. I spent $50 and couldn’t get a small side of sauce for wings that I was not at all happy with. Worst customer service. Does not compare to other Don Chicken franchises. Will...
Read moreVery very good takeout Korean fried chicken. They just opened and they are BUSY! The order took a bit longer than expected, but it was understandable and the staff was very kind and apologetic. I could not try the drumsticks as they ran out, but we had very good french fries, crispy boneless chicken, green onion boneless chicken and sweet and spicy wings. They gave us an order of cole slaw as a thank you for the wait. Very good cole slaw. Very fresh. All the food was just great and surprisingly not greasy or too salty. The pic I posted is of few pieces of the 3 dishes combined. The portions are fairly large. The place is relatively small, mostly for takeout but there is some counter space to eat in. I'll be...
