This was our first time visiting the restaurant and we're undecided if we'd return. I ordered the steak and eggs and it was delicious. However my latte tasted mostly like milk and was a waste of money. My sister said her regular coffee was pretty good. She ordered the crab cake eggs benedict. Her eggs were just shy of being boiled; they weren't cooked correctly but she didn't complain. She said the crab cakes tasted more like tuna. The portion sizes were large so it was a good value for the money. The service wasn't good. Our server acted like we were bothering her, although we didn't interact with her much. After I ordered my latte I asked for a iced tea and she looked bothered and annoyed. Mind you we were sitting at the bar, so all she had to do was turn around to the fountain. After we got our food she asked us if everything was fine (which it was) but then she never came back. After we finished our meal we sat and chatted while we waited for her to come around. We had to ask another server to bring us to-go boxes and he was very friendly. After another 15 minutes passed, we asked him to request that our server please bring our check to the table. She came very quickly, passed by, never stopped and sort of tossed the check on the table and said have a nice day. She never even looked at us. It was odd. When I was checking out, the hostess (he could've been the manager, I'm unsure) asked us how everything was. I was honest and told him that we felt forgotten about and that the server wasn't friendly. He looked shocked and said she was so nice and that she had a lot of tables and that's probably why she wasn't attentive. In addition, sitting at the bar allowed me to see a lot of behind the scenes. The machine used to make the lattes, cappuccinos and steamed milk was never cleaned in between orders. They just kept dunking the brother/steamer in new cups when they were making new drinks. There were many condiment bottles that were not clean and we got sauce on our fingers when we picked it up. The hostess kept coughing and I felt like he should've taken the initiative to put a mask on. There aren't many drink options and all of the juices are bottled then poured into cups which is fine. Besides that, the location is great,...
Read moreWas very excited to try out this place, but would have to give it a 2 stars because the food was pretty good but the service was very disappointing that I will not be returning. Me and my boyfriend came in about an hour before closing (we thought they were open all day or we would have went somewhere else no one mentioned anything until we have already ordered) people were cleaning up and our waiter I believe her name was Jennifer was just in such a hurry to grab our order and didnât know we would get bread with our order and we asked for a side of chorizo but they werenât able to do that even though they sell it for the chorizo omelet and other meals? Also we asked for the potatoes with no peppers & no onions but our server said they canât do that. I then asked for more coffee and one of the servers (a women wearing a green apron) when dropping off our food yelled out âNO COFFEEâ and smirked when she was right next to us, even though it was still 30 minutes before closingâŚA server filling the sugar caddyâs was saying that their getting out of here quick, I understand their workers want to get out right when they close but when thereâs people still eating and trying to enjoy their meal itâs hard to when everyoneâs in a rush and cleaning and yelling around us. We ate quickly and headed out as as we felt we...
Read moreI drove past this place every morning to take my kids to school for the last year but never went in until last week. Breakfast was ok, the restaurant is clean and the decor is super simple and very New York City cafe-ish. The service however, left a lot to be desired. Server took a very long to come over to offer a coffee or drinks of some sort and a customer was yelling across the restaurant having a conversation with who I think is maybe the owner or manager, kind of annoying but oh well. They have skillets but when I ask for a skillet that was not in the menu she said I had to order it exactly from the menu and then tell her what I donât want on it. What I wanted was eggs over easy which already come with the skillet, hashbrowns which already come with the skillet and then just cheddar and bacon. So, I wouldâve had to order one exactly as stated in the menu and then say no tomatoes, no onions, no mozzarella, and on and on. So instead of telling her the Few things ingredients that I want I had to make a list of 8 that I didnât. I ended up ordering just two eggs over easy to make her life and mine easier but she had attitude from then on. So, we ate fast, I left her a good tip anyway because everybodyâs entitled to a bad day, but it really just soured me...
