This theater is going down hill!! I grew up in Olivette so this of course is where I spent MANY weekends. It used to be a great, clean well managed theater. I went with my daughter and sister to see Spider-Man last night and the experience was terrible ( my experience...not the movie)
1st we waited SEVERAL minutes for the ticket taker, no one came so we just walked in. No one said anything, no one checked our tickets...nothing.
Next we went to the concession stand and the cashier was HOOORRRIIBBLLEEE!!! She had no name tag so I didn’t get her name. She barely spoke to us, just stood looking at us. So we ordered, had a couple questions and when she would answer them she would mumble. I had to say several times “what?!!?” And she would, very annoyed like, repeat her self. We got our stuff and moved along . Not once did we get a “Hi what can I get you?” Or a “thank you!” Or a “come again” or really any kind of communication from her other than staring at us...
We went to top our pop corn and the butter stations BOTH were trifling!!!! Spilled soda, trash, food all on the counters and floors. You could hear other crew members in back talking and playing around and SURPRISING the cashier that waited on us was talking and laugh and being loud right along with the rest. (I was sure she was completely stoic!) no one was out cleaning anything up and other customers were having several issues getting their correct order and had to call back to the playful crew for help. Who just acted bothered. One woman told them the ice was out in the soda machine and from the counter a worker yelled “just use the other one”. I mean true that’s common sense is one isn’t working use the other, but a “thank you” or a sign posted on the broken machine if it was broken is the proper way to handle it in my experience.
Finally we headed to the theater about 15min before showtime and they were still cleaning!! not a huge deal so we waited.....and waited...and never saw the girl come out so we went back in. The cleaning woman left, trash can and brooms still in there but no worker. So we take our seats as well as everyone else that was waiting. Finally a different cleaning woman comes in, begins to tell us the theater isn’t clean but I guess notices the time and just grabs the cleaning equipment and leaves.
I’ll never come back! I used to come to this theater EVERY weekend. I worked in the same plaza for all my years in HS and NEVER saw this theater look as dirty and ran as sloppily as it...
Read moreOhhhhhhh the desire to try and say something both good and kind about my recent experiences is high. The reality however will not allow me to. I recently finally got to see Halloween Ends. I chose to go to AMC 12 because it's close to my home and being disabled, close to home helps a great deal. My first attempt to see this movie found me dealing with a ticket girl who literally had no clue as to what she was doing when trying to ascertain the theaters side of refusing to run my debit or credit cards. In addition to that headache, the ticket machine that one can almost always count on to get a ticket without having to wait in line or deal with people was broken. It also seems that at the time, and the very next day when I returned to try again, no one had bothered to try and fix it. In addition to being unwilling and or unable to process my methods of payment, the website adamantly refused to sell me a ticket through my phone. And this went into the following day, which prompted me to use my desktop in order to get my ticket. Let's now fast forward to the next day. Having got the ticket, and made my way back to this once seemingly vibrant theater, it now felt like if one anyone wanted to see vibrancy, and or at the very least, a fully stocked concession stand, you'd have to go to an evening show as opposed to a matinee because when I got to the concession stand to get my popcorn and soda, I was given a large soda cup, and a bag of popcorn that we then transferred to a box. And to round out the never ending insult that was an eventual afternoon at the movies, the self serve soda machine was apparently down and it took until I switched to another, that someone finally came to put a sign saying something out without offering an apology. I gave it the third star because one of the friendliest employees saw my series of difficulties and helped me into the auditorium and to my seat. And took the time to show me that the seats were heated as well as reclining. The latter of which I already knew. I feel like I might look into going to a different AMC theater in the hope of never having to endure mishap...
Read moreThis is the third time that I have tried to see a 3D movie at this theater and the projection system was not working properly. The show was very dark and hard to see properly and the 3D was barely noticeable as 3D because it was so dark. They have been informed of this and have plenty of time to fix it but yet it goes on and they keep charging for tickets when I'm by myself I would just leave but it's ridiculous having paid a lyft to get me there in the first place. As I said they were told about this several times and nothing has changed. They are still charging for tickets for a movie that is not watchable. I will never try to see a 3D movie here again they obviously don't care about their customers. I received a response wanting all sorts of information. I don't believe I should have to give my life history and my firstborn to get something fixed. This has been an ongoing problem the second time it happened I spoke to an older manager who wasn't even aware that there had been a problem and it's not just me other people were complaining. It happened to me three times and it happened to a friend of mine who also went to try and seeJurassic Park in 3D. People are hurting right now and what you charge for these tickets that people scrimp to get a little entertainment the equipment should be working properly and you should get what you pay for. I have been a long time customer a very long time customer and I was an original stubbs member years ago and I'm a free platform member today however I will never try to see a 3D movie at AMC Creve Coeur 12 again. As I say I tried three times and a friend of mine tried and other people who I don't even know were complaining the same day I was there. I went to b&b down the street and saw Jurassic Park in 3D and had a wonderful experience. There's always going to be problems in a business but when you're made aware of it fix it or stop...
