Dollar General — Local services in Creve Coeur

I would usually give this place a 10-star rating if I could. However as a customer that is loyal and they're almost every day and knows all the employees except for the newbies I was very disappointed last night which was March 6th I specifically drove up there knowing they closed at 10:00 and I showed up 5 minutes to closing a newbie hurried open the doors and was going to lock them I rolled down my window and told her I just needed to grab one thing and I will be on my way. She was so rude and said well too bad were closed obviously. The lights on top of the building we're still on the light or the post was still on and you deliberately tried to lock the doors when you saw headlights pull into the parking lot. I still had five minutes until your closing time. I understand you have to balance your drawers and all of that I have worked in industry like that but you do not rush customers out or deny them service when you're sore is open to the public until 10:00 p.m. if you want to leave by 10:00 you guys need to change the hours back to 9:30 or something like that because the drawers and stuff should not be done until you are closed to the public. Not because it's a Saturday night and your new girl wants to go out and party or whatever. As showing loyalty to them I just want them to be aware that I have been there multiple times and witnessed customers being rushed out the door because yes it is closing time at 10:00 p.m. but you are there because you have customers. I believe and have always told my employees if someone is here you stay you do not have to let anyone else in the door shut off the top light but let your customers finish shopping and don't rush them out just because you guys want to get home. I understand that you are off at a certain time but sometimes you should be flexible because without customers there is no store. That is exactly what happened to Family Dollar they started bullying customers out the door and people got fed up with it and stopped going there all together and would drive to East Peoria or Pekin instead. I just want to see Creve Coeur have valued businesses that bring people to our village and make them want to come back so we have more job opportunities closer to home for people that live here. other than that I do want to give out just shout out to the manager and the other employees who worked around the clock because there was only three of you you know who you are much love you always done right by me and it is because of you three that I will continue to come. However the new girl that worked Saturday March 6th and closed short glasses needs to be written up for her attitude and rudeness towards a loyal customer and even if I wasn't loyal customer I would never allow my employees to speak to customers the way that I was spoke to you last night very upset about it but like I said much love to the three of you that held that place together I hope that corporate sees what a great job you guys do and I will be placing a calls them to let them know how helpful and nice you guys have been most of the time. Because there is one more complaint and it is about one of the three I'm not going to name them but he would not let me put in my number to get my coupons because he did not want to undo the transaction which was just not right I asked you to you should do as I asked I wouldn't have asked if you had a line full of people but you were not busy and that did make me very mad because it was $25 that you made me lose because you were too lazy to bring things back out and it's all you had to do was cancel the transaction and rearing my cart and it's not like I had 20,000 things either so I just want you guys to stay here I'm not hating on the business but I've lived in Creve core my whole entire life I've seen businesses come and go and I would like to see things get better around here. They're constantly moving the medicine isle items around. Nothing is ever in the same place twice. No doubt a continuous effort by marketing to continue to prove reason for its own existence.

The isles are always jam packed with items going out, which is bothersome because there is a mega DG packed into a small space. Obviously again, marketing.
