The tech showed up. Seemed unhappy, and grumpy. I am having dryer problems. The drum can be lifted up, and makes a thumping noise while running. Right away he tells me, he has no idea what could be going on. I had to unplug the dryer for him, the plug is behind the washer near the floor next to a counter. Had to pull the washer to do that. No biggie, I was just trying to be helpful. I watched him for awhile. He was having trouble disassembling the control panel. I had it apart awhile back, to see if I could repair it myself. So I showed him how to get it off, one screw. I left the area, for him to do his work. After a time, he called me in said he no idea what was wrong, but he did replace these plastic bearings. I said to him, well I guess I'm going to pay around eighty dollars for nothing. He said, let me go call the boss and see what I can do. He went to his van for a few minutes. I went in to check the dryer. He hadn't plugged it in, but had pushed the washer back. I had to pull the washer back out, to plug it in. When he return, the first thing he said was, " I've replaced a lot of these GE dryer drums, they expand". This is the same guy who told me earlier he had no idea what could be wrong. I asked him again about being charged eighty dollars, I guess I was smiling. At that point he got angry, and said something about me smiling at him, and that he came in to tell me he wasn't going to charge me. He turned around left my house, slammed my door, and left the gate to my backyard opened, I have dogs. He was so rude!! And I believe he knew of expanding drum, since he has replaced so many of them
For that reason I will never use Staats again, or recommend them.

Read moreI had an issue with my furnace in my house not long after I moved in and called Staats for service. To be honest mostly because they had a sticker on the unit. They came out the same day and found the issue right away and I was pleasantly surprised that they said the unit was still under warranty and the part was covered. I didn't even know there was any warranty on the unit. That shows me they hold up there end of the warranty and are honest. Very hard to find in the service world it seems these days. The tech was very knowledgeable and explained to me what was going on very clearly. I also told them to give me at least a 20 min notice before driving over if they could and they did 100%. A few weeks later after this event I had another issue. Completely different issue than the first and called around 8pm to the on call number. Ron was awesome and explained a few things to try on the phone with him. After they didn't work he came out super fast and found the issue and had it fixed in minutes. Ron said because they were out not long ago there would be no charge for the trip! I couldn't believe they came out on call and fixed the issue and at no charge! I recommend Staats to everyone I know and they will be at the top of my list for the services they provide for...
Read moreThis repair tech was incredibly condescending and rude. First off, my husband explained situation before they came out. He walks in and I explain again. He immediately says, well I can’t fix this, you need a plumber..okay fair, but why did no one catch on to that before wasting everyone’s time. Mind you he hadn’t even looked at it at this point. Then he runs it and says it all is draining fine. I said well then why have we had to shop vac all the water out after the last few cycles due to not draining. He basically just keeps assuring me it’s draining. He then proceeds to tell me how poorly it was installed and that he has the ability to fix it, but won’t because his company doesn’t carry those parts or do that, and they would have never installed it that way in the first place. I was like okay, well who can fix this then? He is like “I don’t know anybody could fix that.. just go to hardware store and buy some hose, it isn’t hard” Obviously, I know nothing about appliances, but no need to be so rude and condescending.
