French's Shoes & Boots — Local services in Crossville

I went to pick up some nice western clothing for a special event and couldn’t remember if I had a certain shirt or not so I picked up one just in case anyways and was greeted by a nice young lady. I got home and found the shirt I thought I had and didn’t even try on the one I bought so I called and a younger lady answered and said as long as it was in new condition with tags I could bring it back in in so many days I could get a refund with no problem as long as I had receipt and was really nice. I showed up and walked in and the older lady which I assume is an owner, greeted me rude and never changed when she seen the bag in my hand with my return. I was then asked why I had brought it back multiple times which I told her already that I just didn’t need it and it wasn’t like I was needing money for something else since I kept the 80 something dollar jeans I bought. I know I can get better deals on these things elsewhere but I wanted to support local shops and stores. I’ve spent over thousand plus dollars here and i guess they don’t need that so I will head to Knoxville for now on just to be treated...

Great store, great prices, great service! The sales associates were helpful and friendly. So why only 3 stars? We left some boots to be repaired and stretched. The young boy who wrote out our ticket did not provide enough information for the person repairing the boots and he wrote down our cell phone number wrong. Mistakes happen, I get it. My husband called the store and was told the boots were ready. We drove from Chattanooga to Crossville to get them, that's how much we like this store and it was a beautiful drive. When we got there the boots were not ready. I explained that they said they were ready. She, the lady behind the counter, then tells me it is not their fault that they could not read or understand the ticket that they wrote out. I'm sorry she had a bad day, everyone has them. I'm not sure why she feels their mistakes are our fault. Will we go back? Probably, plus we need to pick up the boots. Can I recommend their shoe repair? No, because I dont want you to be treated like we were treated. I will say this, the work they did was top notch! Maybe tomorrow will be...

Like many people say, the staff is friendly and helpful, yet management won't stand behind their product. We purchased several pairs of boots a couple of months ago, including a pair of young children's boots. The boots look well made, but obviously had a factory defect, as the sole just came off the boot. We didn't have the receipt any longer, but could get a bank statement showing the purchase at this store, yet the person in charge said even with the receipt they would not do anything as the purchase had been more than a month ago and the boots had been from the clearance section, which are shoes which have defects or issues on them. Nowhere in the store it said the clearance section shoes had defects! We will not be returning to this business as they do not stand behind...
