Boot Barn — Local services in Crystal Lake

We’ve been long time customers of boot barn and we used to drive all the way to the gurnee store to shop so we were excited that this location was opening. I’ve waited to leave a review but on my third experience I’ve come to the conclusion I would rather drive to gurnee than come here. All of the times I’ve been here I don’t get greeted / welcomed. I have to go out of my way to ask for help. The selection is not the best either, I was giving it time for them to increase their inventory but it seems like it’s all the same each time I’ve been there. And this last time we needed help with a hat shaping but the two female employees looked at us like we were greatly inconveniencing them when we asked about it.. okay I will spend my hundreds of dollars at another location or order online next time! Shocked by the good reviews. I called ahead asking if they had toddler boots in store. Had such an uncomfortable experience. They had very limited to no boots for my 3 yr old son to try on. I had to ask so many questions to get help as I’ve never purchased boots for a toddler. Employees lacked customer service skills and seemed either annoyed or very unhelpful in helping me purchase anything. I wanted to purchase shoes for my son’s upcoming birthday party and considered buying myself a pair of boots only after going up to another employee the third time did I get any help. Mitch was great handling a complaint I had about a leather belt I had to reorder. I got one that was to small on me so I brought it in in person and ordered it again and when I did the belt arrived and the color was off even though the rep looked right at it!
