Came here for the first time and was sadly very disappointed with the quality of the meat and the customer service. The meat was overpriced for the quality of the meat I got. The Ground beef was red on top but all brown and oxidized at the center. Mind you I came in early so I would think everything would have been more fresh. Then when I asked what kind of beef it was she told me “it’s what we have that’s it”. Like i know it’s beef! Is it round, how lean is it, is it Angus? This is a question I would expect a butch would know the answer for and be able to answer and not give me a smart ass response. Plus I was told that the beef patties were an extra $3 for just them forming them ( no seasoning or anything other than just the beef and the shape of a patty) her words. Needless to say I will not be coming back again sad to say I get treated better at Costco than a local butcher shop. Very very...

It was our first time going here. Beautiful day in downtown Crystal Lake. The business was warm, welcoming, felt like your local neighborhood butcher. Everything looked amazing and was reasonably priced.

We ended up getting some ribeye thin sliced while being helped by this very nice woman - who turned out to be the owner. No wonder the business is so great! I asked if she would be able to shave the ribeye for me (making some Philly cheesesteaks). She didn’t even hesitate to smile and gladly assist with my unique request.

Lastly, this was the unexpectedly awesome part. As first timers, we got a free pound of their in house ground beef. It was a 90/10. I was here on Saturday for the first time, and I must say, the place was immaculate and they had a wonderful selection of spices, meat, and jams. I purchased a decent size ribeye steak and asked for it to be sliced for sandwiches and it was absolutely perfect. I also purchased their potato salad, which was amazing. The staff was very friendly.

I will definitely go back, because the quality of the meat was fabulous, and I loved the potato salad.
