Great place. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great location, and awesome atmosphere - the interior is really well put-together. Update: I had to change the review from a 5 star to a 3. I brought some family here for a few drinks and walked up to the bar to order. It wasn’t all that crowded and there was one customer at the bar talking to the one employee behind the bar. I stood there for a few seconds and the employee said “hi” and continued talking to the customer. She didn’t ask what we wanted, if we wanted a menu, or to tell us that she’d be right with us; she just continued talking. So a minute or so passes and a different employee came to take care of us. I know what you might be thinking, “big deal; so you had to wait a minute”. Well it turns out it was the owner of the place that was initially behind the bar and didn’t offer to help us. That’s why I had to change the review. Why would the owner not provide the best service possible? I think that’s very strange. I shared eye contact with her on our way out and we didn’t receive a ‘thanks’ or a ‘goodbye’. We felt more like an inconvenience to her than paying customers. But the service that we did get from the other employee was great. Also the wine and the sipping cocoa were awesome too.

This was our first time trying this place, and while it started off well with a great caramel macchiato, the rest of the experience was disappointing. My coworker paid over $15 for a salad that was missing one of its main ingredients—the rustic spring leaf mix. It only had spinach. When I called to let them know, the only resolution they offered was for us to come back and pick up the missing greens. Since our lunch break was already over, that wasn’t an option. They didn’t offer a refund, a replacement, or any kind of compensation for the incomplete meal. Even after I asked. It’s frustrating to pay full price and not receive a complete menu item, especially when the only solution offered is inconvenient and unrealistic during a workday. We won’t be returning.

I was in Crystal Lake at an appointment, Aroma came highly recommended by the office staff. I was very pleased with this experience! The place is SO cute, comfortable furniture is in the front (bring a book), tables line the walls and rear of the space with a countertop perfect for some computer work. They have breakfast and lunch menus, coffee of all sorts and plenty of wine! The food was outstanding as was the wine. Everyone was so sweet and helpful. I can't wait to take myself back here for a little lunch date. Don't forget to stop in a few doors down at Kalck's Butcher Shop, another great place I found when leaving Aroma's.

Wife and I went for a late Saturday afternoon lunch. I will say the two of us had differing opinions. She like liked it and I was not impressed. I think it goes over well with the women as that is the targeted clientele. Decor is nice inside. She loved her wine and enjoyed her sandwich. I had the ham sandwich and it was ok. Very light on the ham. I say this because at $10 for a sandwich, I want not than three slivers of deli ham and a sliver of apple. Sandwiches come with no sides. Side “salad” is a extra dollar and is a few pieces of spring mix with light dressing. Not much of a salad. My daughter ordered a cookie that they forgot to bring so I Had to go get it. Something about shift change. There were four people working and about four patrons so should not have been confusing. Coffee was ok for americano. My wife did like her wine. Menu is a little confusing as there are several different menus. I did not see the beer menu but when asked later, server pointed it out on back of craft cocktail menu. By the way, cocktails out of a can are not “craft”. If you don’t mix it, don’t call it craft. Prices were steep considering quantity and also as it is self service essentially. I am sure wife will go back but I will...

I (Kim) was here april 26th with my sisters-in-law. It was the first time we've been together, sans kids, husbands, etc in about 6 years.

The decor is beautiful. It's a very visually pleasing place to gather.

The food was great- I ordered the grain bowl and was offered a substitute for an ingredient they ran out of, then happened to still receive the dish as described plus the substitute. My sister-in-law ordered the chicken avocado flatbread, and it was filling and delicious. She waited at least 45 min for it though...

They were very clearly swamped, and somehow my ticket got lumped with another and my order was passed. I waited an hour for my food, and when the owner(s) realized, they were horrified. They cooked it immediately, comped the meal, threw on a desert, and were extremely apologetic. I had been a little frustrated, but patient, and appreciated their attentiveness when they realized what happened. The food was great and the atmosphere pleasant. I will return when I'm...
