Kohl's — Local services in Crystal Lake

On December 15th, 2020 at exactly at 8:19 P.M. I wanted to exchange 2 shirts for the same price. I had bought a $14.99 Boys Vans shirt and wanted to exchange it for another Boys Vans shirt for $14.99. And the lady couldn’t do a EVEN EXCHANGE! I didn’t understand what she was doing looking at the retail price when BOTH SHIRTS WERE $14.99. I bought the Boys Van shirt ON SALE for $14.99 and came back wanting to exchange it because it was STILL ON SALE for $14.99 and the old lady kept looking at the RETAIL price of $28 (the Vans shirt I wanted to exchange for) and the retail price of $22 (the shirt I had originally) I didn’t buy the shirt at retail price. They are both ON SALE for $14.99! She said she couldn’t do that. I was sooo confused so I ended up returning the shirt. I had the same issue with another shirt I wanted to exchange, but she told me they had to be the same brand. They BOTH were the same price $11.99. I bought a Jumping Beans brand shirt for $11.99 and wanted to exchange it for a different brand pajamas that were the same price $11.99 and she told me I couldn’t do that. This second one, I get they have to be the same brand, but they are the SAME price! BUT the first one was ridiculous. They were the same brand and BOTH FOR $14.99.I ended up returning the shirt to get my money back along w/ the Kohl’s cash. I’ve worked retail before and did returns and if their was a price difference, customer just pay the difference when it’s exchange. This was an even exchange for the same price and old lady doing...

Manager was extremely rude and didn't hear me out or let me talk. Today was some Kohls sweepstake with free kohls cash to use. My sister told me about it and called me up to join her in shopping after work. I did not come in with her nor do we live in the same household. I was given my own coupon at the door when I arrived just as she did when she arrived earlier. We did our shopping and went to go try to pay at self check out. My coupon was coming up invalid and I overheard by the other registers at the return area that another customer was having the same issue so we decided to move up and pay by the return area. When we explained and a lady scanned the coupon, it was coming up as being already used. The manager came around and took my coupon away saying it’s one coupon per household, we told her we aren't in the same household and she changed it up saying per group. We didn't want to argue with her at all but she kept changing things up every time rather then trying to fix the issue we even came over for. The other lady said that the coupon can’t be used on charity items after so my sister put in her items combined with mine which where just normal merchandise and even with that she tried taking my sister’s coupon away but the lady told her no and continued to scan the kohl’s cash. Overall just upsetting for straight up taking my coupon away, not letting me explain, and just giving straight up attitude over an issue the manager didn’t even bother to solve or explain to us that was happening...

The service, cleanliness, products in stock , is why I gave a 5. I visited the store at around 11:00 am on Saturday. Crystal Lake Kohls store is well organized and stuff isn't smashed in or living on the floor with 5 other things. Kohls keeps it nice and professional. I was there just to buy ONE bottle of foundation from the Sephora store shop in shop. Well "Tess" from this department offered assistance and I purchased 5 things to use on my face. And I like them all. She took great care of me by trying on and suggesting colors and types for my skin. I felt important not like I was a bother. Good training. Also the store was very organized and colorful which made me happy. When you go to others (tj's, ross, etc.maybe WM too) the store is a chaotic mess. Gives me anxiety. Love it that Kohls prices at least in the area I was, were clearly marked and in a larger print. Remember the "boomers need this" and buy more if they can see the prices. The store was picked up (mostly clothes) and neatly hung or folded. Again, it was a comfortable experience to be there. Kohls works for my place to shop. Oh one more thing.......and if they could start giving out little cups of wine in the department where the massage chairs live , sales will sure go up! . And I am not an AI pos. I like my own brain.
