Had a really fun day where Lena and Scott took my family for a guided tour around kings bay and crystal river with paddleboards and some snorkeling. Only one of us had tried it before but but with very good and patient teachers we all learned it very quickly. During the trip we saw some fish, turtles and manatees (not common during this time of year) and Scott learned my daughter who is 11 some freediving skills and she dived down around 10 feet which was a great experience for her. Definately worth the extra money to book a giuded tour instead of renting to paddleboards and go out ourselves. Some positive notes: -Good communication on mail before booking, we gave them some background info e.g. Age, experience and travelling time and they gave us their recommendation for place and time (due to weather conditions). They have permits for a few places. -Good knowledge of the area and nature (I do not think of the others we meet saw any manatees -Small groups, where other companies often have up to 8 in a group they prioritize smaller groups so it was only our family which was very good for the kids. Also, many other companies do not allow kids under 13 to use the paddleboard by themselves, and the youngest one who are 10 we also allowed to try even though we only payed for her as a”ride along” -Good and new equipment, they even have battery propeller so one of the kids could get towed when she got tired. -Very patient, we never felt like being in a rush. It was more like they were enjoying themselves showing us the beautiful nature. We only continued when we were ready -Most important, they are really cool people, if we ever come back to Florida we will definately contact them again. In a country driven by corporations and franchises and a tourist driven state which means quick money as the tourist are unlikely to return (imho) it was so nice to use a small family driven company which is service minded and put the customer first. We wish all the best for them...
Read moreI could use every complimentary word in the dictionary to describe our experience with Water's Edge Paddleboard and Kayak Adventures and it still wouldn't be enough. You could book a journey on the Rainbow River with another company, but your adventure will never compare to the one provided by Scotty and Lena.
It was truly amazing, incredible, and everything in between. We never kayaked before this tour. They gave us a tutorial and the confidence needed to navigate one of the most beautiful rivers in Florida. Throughout the journey, Scotty shared his knowledge of the river, its history, unique attributes, and habitat which only added to the experience.
Our tour took us from KP Hole upriver, down a breathtaking canal, and up to the headsprings before embarking on our relaxing float back down the river. Along the way, we were able to witness turtles, birds, fish, and even an otter in their natural habitat. It was truly magical. Scotty and Lena even made sure we had some time to snorkel before ending our magnificent adventure.
It was definitely the highlight of our vacation and we can't wait to book another tour with Water's Edge.
The tour is perfect for all skill levels. Out of the three of us, I was the most hesitant due to my lack of experience, but again their tutorial was amazing and Scotty even gave me some tips along the way. Oh and the clear bottom kayaks were an added bonus!
Thank you again, Scotty and Lena, for such an amazing trip. See...
Read moreWe recently rented some kayaks & paddleboards from Scott & Lena with Water's Edge, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish! They were incredibly friendly and accommodating over the phone, helping us decide on the best equipment for our group.
We also booked a snorkeling tour with them at Rainbow River. We went out at late afternoon/early evening which helped us avoid the crowds and heat. Most of the time we felt we had the entire river to ourselves. Scott and Lena went above and beyond by helping us transport our equipment, getting everything ready for launch, and even driving two guests from our party so we didn't have to take multiple cars.
The tour was truly magical. Our group of 9, with various ages and skill levels, felt safe, comfortable, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves thanks to Scott and Lena's attentiveness. They took us to a rope swing, we fed fish, swam down to a cave, and took us to through what seemed like a secret cove. Their attention to detail and genuine care for our experience made the adventure even more enjoyable.
If you're in town and looking for some adventure with great people, we definitely recommend Water's Edge. Can't wait to come back and...
