Consumer beware. Paid over $12000 to have old flooring removed and vinyl planks installed in 1300 square foot home. My rating and warning is based on the following: upon furnishings the newly purchased house with all new GE Profile higher end appliances, I was discover that the pre-existing tile had not been completely removed from under the old dishwasher, when pulling out the old dishwasher, there was a mountain of debris from the demo of the flooring… when installing the new dishwasher It was impossible to level because 1 foot could not reach the exposed subfloor, and the other foot was on tile that was left behind. In the When I showed them the dishwasher issue of not being level, there was nothing wrong with the dishwasher only days old… I went back into my office to continue my workday and when I came back into the room, a half hour later the dishwasher was now level, however, there was a massive dent in the front. His crew adamantly denied causing the damage. Aaron attempted to get the dent out by using a heat gun, but it did not work. he offered to take something off the final bill but I declined as that is not going to solve the problem… I need the dent fixed. Furthermore, is the issue of the main bathroom floor. Apparently, when demoing the ceramic tile it left the concrete pretty uneven with significant dips. They attempted self leveling cement in areas, But no scraper or level was used to make sure the floor was flat when re-installing the new vinyl planks. As a result, walking in the bathroom feels like walking on hard peaks and spongy valleys. My furniture does not sit level in that room because of it and now my cabinet doors Of the furniture are not operating properly because the furniture is not on a flat surface… Vinyl sinks in an areas. When I brought this issue up I was told it was as good as it gets And some amount of sinking pockets is acceptable and will not harm the flooring. Read moreMy wife and I have been in Love it or List it mode for 8 or 9 months now. We’ve looked at so many houses and their walls, floors, windows, and doors that it opened us up to remembering the things we love and appreciate in our home so we decided to keep loving it. I’ll be honest and say interest rates helped a little too.
We updated the paint colors last fall to brighten the interior but that exposed how awful the carpet looked. We decided it was time for a change. We weren’t sure what material we wanted to do but we were definitely against carpet.
We visited the usual suspects, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Discount Floors and a few others and found the faux expertise and upselling utterly exhausting. At the last moment we called FCI and talked with Aaron.
I started the conversation guarded as I was skeptical but keenly prepared to counter any of that farkle nonsense and upselling but there was none of the at rat-a-tat-cat. Aaron made an exceptional first impression by simply making me feel like our needs and desire were important while discussing what we wanted. Right off the bat, we scheduled a consultation with Aaron.
We had an awesome experience with Aaron. The flooring options were plentiful but his keen attention to detail and focus on our plans helped us visualize and decide on the finishes for our flooring project. I would be remiss not to mention that if you know my wife, this is not an easy feat!
All said, Aaron’s distinctive professionalism and salesmanship reflect great credit upon himself and FCI. I highly recommend his services. Numeral...
Read moreVery happy with the end result. We had a little hiccup with the first crew they sent out. They were new to the company and their workmanship was less than tradesman quality. I don't blame Aaron for this, as you never know what you're gonna get out of a new crew until you try them out. I sent a few pics to Aaron and once he saw the level of quality (or lack thereof), he immediately yanked them after the first day. He didn't try to excuses their mistakes away or try to minimize my concerns. He just handled it. THIS is what a reputable owner does that cares about his rep and the quality of the work his company provides.
The next day he sent out Fred, Blake, Angelo & Jeff. They went about removing the poorly cut-in areas (around door jambs) of the installation and continued on with the rest of the job. Within about 15 minutes it was obvious they were TRADESMAN. Their attention to detail was exactly what you'd expect from a great flooring install. Aaron even offered to do an extra room for free as part of his apology for the day 1 problems but we declined this as we really didn't need it. We do appreciate the offer though.
As far as we were concerned, he took ownership of, and addressed the problem professionally and the needed corrections were immediately made and he got us back on track to having a quality install.
I 100% recommend Aaron and Floor Coverings Int'l. and would use them again in the future for any of my...
