I have no idea how this place gets a 4 star rating. This place doesn't deserve 1 star. Right in the door, all the tables were dirty, not with dishes, but with leftover food. The "boy" that cleaned the table also took our order and clearly knew nothing about the menu. My guest ordered fried oysters and they came out not cooked properly and cold. I ordered the pick 4 platter with broiled shrimp, oysters, scallops and a crab cake. My side was mashed potatoes and gravy and I got soup that all came with the meal. I told the "boy" that I wanted no bread in my French onion soup, but it was there anyway. None of my platter food was even warm. Now the girl that was supposed to be our server wanted to know how our meal was, so we told her that none of the food was hot. She said that she would have the owner come out. When the owner(a very rude woman) came to the table, she said the food was hot out of the kitchen and I let it sit until it got cold. She literally said I was lying. She said that she would really make it hot. It sounded like a threat. The second plates had clearly been in the oven. The server had to bring the plates with oven mitts on. They also have hidden charges that they don't tell you about. There are open holes in the ceiling, moss growing on the electrical head and the overall condition was terrible. The health department needs to shut this place down. The owner is a joke. Avoid at all cost, go to Charlie's up the...
Read moreWent there last night. Boyfriend ordered fried chicken (advertised as all you can eat chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, biscuits and corn muffins). He specifically asked if it included the salad bar. Thin waitress with dark hair told us "all entries include salad bar". He received five pieces of chicken and green beans, no potatoes, no biscuits and no corn muffins. Also no price for the chicken is posted. He was charged 18.99. Our teenager ordered alfredo with clams and oysters. Received soup bowl of sauce with about two forkfuls of noodles. After eating the noodles, oysters and clams the soup bowl was still almost to the brim with sauce. The bread he received was two small slices (about the size of quarters). His meal was 16.99. My meal was described on the menu as "chopped steak served over a bed of mashed potatoes with gravy and one side". I received chopped stead, no mashed potatoes, no gravy - I did receive my side of greens. I said something to the think waitress with dark hair -- forty minutes later still no potatoes. I actually felt sorry for the black waitress. As we sat there we watched as she ran around trying to serve everyone while the thin girl with dark hair went up to the other end of the restaurant to talk to some guy. We try hard to support local merchants wherever we go -- however, we...
Read moreI usually love this place. We must have hit an off day. This Sunday afternoon they were full and we did not order that buffet so our service less than stellar. It was an unusual day as many in the room did not order the buffet which seemed to cause the one waitress to be way over burdened. The young man helping her fill drinks and fetch napkins did a good job, but he too was over worked. We arrived at 1:30 PM and the buffet looked picked over and dried out. When our food arrived, everyone at our table was served there food except me. With no explainaation, I had to Do if she'd forgotten my order. I had to wait and additional 5 minutes for my broiled aeafood - which by the way was dry and way over seasoned. My hubby's salad seemed to be an entire head of iceberg ripped into quarters- no where close to bite size. But he did rave about the chicken which was pilled high on top. My mom's salmon looked amazing.. Although she did not get the plain butter for her sweet potatoes until my husband went to fetch it from the kitchen. My sons enjoyed their meals of blackened catfish and shrimp Alfredo. The clam chowder and chicken soup was the best part of the entire meal though. The price was very reasonable.Like I said, usually this place is pretty good. But it had been a while since ive been there. And it may be a while...
