We recently visited the Crystal River, FL pharmacy to have a prescription filled from a surgery that my husband had this past Friday for rotator cuff. I went after church to pick up the prescription as I was sent home with a pain pump to cover the pain until Monday. Sunday I was advised by the pharmacy tech that was also working last night that the prescription would have to "be re-done, and insurance will not cover until Wednesday". She proceed to call our insurance company to see what the issue was. They were closed being a Sunday. I then proceeded to call yesterday to see what the issue was, where I was told that the prescription could not be filled as the medication was on back order for 30 days. My wife then found out that the original prescription was sent to Jacksonville (Walgreens). Called the Dr. to have them resend a prescription to the CR Walgreens - but a lesser prescription than what was originally ordered. Then told by the automated system that the prescription would be available anytime after 6:15. We arrived approximately 7:40 ish. Waited at the driveup window for someone to appear. After 5 mins, my wife pressed the button and waited another 3 mins. The pharmacy tech (Tall, skinny red head young male) from Sunday, finally appeared. Rude upon arrival! My wife said good evening, we are picking up for Provided the Last name for who you are pick up for? Birthdate . Your prescription isn't ready. i advised that we were not picking up for the original request, the new prescription that was called in today. Said that it would be available after 6:15pm. Tech walks away, says nothing. Another ten mins goes by. Pharmacist comes to the window and asks us if we have found a local dr yet. We both explain that we have not. I have been going to Mayo Clinic (3 locations in the entire US) in Jacksonville where all of my dr's know me, and my history. Well, you need to find someone local as we can no longer fill prescriptions outside of a 50 mile radius. My wife explains that I just had rotator cuff surgery on Friday. She continues to ask us why it was not done locally. And we explain that it is the same Dr that we have used for the past 5 surgeries. Again, with the 50 mile radius, and now we will need a letter from a specialist faxed in for her to fill any new prescriptions. I explained that it was the first that we have heard of Walgreens not filling a prescription that was over 50 miles away from the pharmacy. She said that it seems pretty far to go too see a Dr. Where my wife said, if you knew his medical history, you would understand. We both felt like criminals at that point, asking for something that was prescribed after a surgery. We were blatantly mischaracterized, shamed, and talked down to. Her condescending, God complex was over the top. It was to the point that if my husband did not try to de-escalate the situation, that she would not fill the prescription, and he would be made to suffer. You have a nationwide database of what has been prescribed. This behavior is completely unacceptable and intolerable! Needless to say, we will never step foot into another Walgreens as...
Read moreAbsolutely rude pharmacy staff who are completely incompetent at their jobs. I pre-filled my prescription the night before, was given confirmation that it would be ready the next day at 5pm. I wait all day, go about 15 min early. Just for them to tell me itâs not ready, and wonât be ready until tomorrow. I explain thatâs not possible I need it tonight as Iâve run out already, and that their system had told me it would be ready. They told me there was nothing they could do, proceeded to complain about how many orders they have to fill, then told me even if they could push me to the front they didnât have a price from my insurance so they canât charge me. I explain I donât have insurance and I havenât for months so that shouldnât be an issue. She gets flustered proceeds to tell me they still canât do it. At this point I say this is ridiculous and I drive away, as she is yelling into the microphone telling me to sarcastically have a great day. I proceed to then call the store, get team lead âJoshâ tell him everything, he tells me to give him a moment and he will call me back. 30 minutes later, I get a call. Sorry thereâs nothing we can do, mind you at this point itâs 5:30 theyâre pharmacies close at 6. He tells me if I can drive to another Walgreens 30 min away that they can fill it, but thereâs nothing they can do until tomorrow. I say ârespectfully, I have to ask, but why does it take so long to fill, when all you have to do is grab a package and put it in a bag, the medicine I get comes prepacked in a plastic wrap that if removed would show tamperingâ he tells me they have to count everything even if itâs prepackaged. Which I find hilarious, because its simply not true, and itâs clear they just donât want to do their jobs. I also tell him I canât drive to that store before they close, he tells me oh well I guess weâll see you tomorrow then. The amount of unprofessionalism from both pharmacy staff and management is absolutely ridiculous, and to not even be filling prescriptions on time for people. Someone needs to step it up...
Read moreExtremely disappointed in the pharmacy. My 11 month old son had a script sent in to Walgreen Crystal River this morning. He's Extremely sick. I asked how long it would be this morning around 945am, and they said a few hours, so I went to work. After work, 7:05pm, I walk into walgreens and go back to the pharmacy, and it's closed. Says on the website and the store that it's open until 10pm. I asked a female employee what the deal was and she said "they closed at 7 today because they were short 1 person". So now, we have to wait until 9am tomorrow morning to TRY to get the medication.
Short 1 person. I'm short staffed everyday, and I grin n bare it through the situation. Will be changing pharmacies for my family and never going to walgreens again. Short staffed is their problem and the world has gotten so soft. No one can step up and do extra. People can barely do what's asked of them. I'm all about giving grace in situations but people need their medication. I wonder if corporate is aware they shut down...
