Went into the store trying to buy a replacement thermostat for my Maytag Neptune dryer. I didn't know the exact part number for the brand, but I did know the equivalent Samsung part number that was interchangeable. The gentleman who helped me was very nice and helpful. I have no complaints with him. The older lady who was there interjected herself into our conversation is a different matter though. She very rudely and told me that we couldn't use an equivalent part from a different brand, and completely took over the conversation. I pointed out that it was standard practice to have interchangeable parts, but she went on about how she had been doing this business for 20+ years and knew what she was talking about. She then offered to sell me a Maytag specific thermostat package for around $40. I ended up buying the Samsung thermostat for $8 on Amazon and installed it myself. My Maytag dryer now works like new with a Samsung thermostat. I would not recommend buying a vent hood from Bob Wallace. We bought several appliances from Bob Wallace recently because I thought that they were a company that stood behind their product. About two years ago, we had bought a fridge from them. All I can say is they don't stand behind their vent hoods. We even bought the five year warranty that went with it. I asked when I was purchasing it if it was a good vent hood. The two gentlemen working there told me yes. (The unit was the second highest one in price.) However, it does not work properly; I still have condensation on my cabinets just like when I had the microwave over the oven. Bob Wallace sent someone out, and he agreed it wasn't working properly. The gentleman who came out said that Melissa would be contacting us. She never contacted us. Melissa was not easy to reach; it took over a week to talk to her. Terrible Terrible service. Purchased Speed Queen washer and dryer about a month ago. $2300.00 . Dryer never has worked. Found out by the repairman we were sold a used dryer that had been worked on and unable to repair at another persons house. Ask for a full refund. No follow up We have called the store several times nothing has been done and they could care less. Dryer has never worked. We called the OWNER of the place in Huntsville. We will see if that helps.
