I rarely leave negative reviews for a restaurant because I know that, for the most part, the people in this industry work hard and are usually unappreciated, however, the service I received at the Downtown Grill today was so egregious I just felt compelled to leave this poor review.

I came in with a group of people from work. I ordered the Cajun pasta, which according to the menu, came with blackened chicken and conecuh sausage. It was a little bit of a wait, but eventually the server started bringing out the food. Everyone in our party received their dish except me but I was assured mine was coming up. Everyone had started to finish their meal and I was still waiting. Nobody came out and apologized for the delay and I was offered no explanation. By the time I received my meal everyone in my party had finished and were starting to get ready to leave. I had a few bites and asked the server to bring me a to go box.

I still received no apology for the fact they didn't even allow me the time to dine with my co-workers. I had to box up my meal and go back to work still hungry and will probably re-heat my lunch by microwave tonight.

I didn't ask, but I expected at this point there would be some consolation on my bill. Instead I found that they added $3.99 for the meat that was supposed to be part of the meal. Not only did I not get a discount for the horrible service and delay, they overcharged me. At this point I just wanted to pay, cut my losses, and get back to work. The receipt stated that there would be a 2% surcharge if you pay with a debit card. I paid cash and I still left a little bit of a tip despite the horrible service I had received. If nothing else, a simple apology for making me miss my meal would have made a world of difference but no such apologies were forthcoming.

The positive part of this review, and the only reason I have it two stars instead of one, is that the pasta was delicious. If service has matched the quality of food the Downtown Grill would have a returning patron, but after this experience, unfortunately, I...

We are saved!!! Kendra has restored our faith in eating local!!! Amazing good, her service is always above and beyond! I totally suggest the buffalo chicken dip! The hubs swears by the potato skins!!! Best ranch ever!!!! Thank you Kendra and DTG!!! We feel the love!!!!

PS screaming sweet heat wings are LIFE!!!

WAS ONE OF OUR GO TO PLACES NOT NOW. We went in tonight around 745pm. Supposedly they're posted hours are until 9pm. However we sat at the bar which usually means quicker service. Not tonight. We placed an order for a few apps and ordered drinks. Bar tender literally disappeared only to resurface to check out a 3 top and make sure she long hugged each gentleman and offered a 2nd round of hugs for them...then disappearred again....she then brought out 2 COLD APPS. We informed her we would like to order food. She didnt seem thrilled but hey oh well. She took the order. Only to find out tonight their grilled closed at 815. Posted hours are until 9pm. I get breakdown and clean time etc but we should have been told when we arrived or at least prior to ordering another drink and being told no food. Bar tender and I had a small unpleasant exchange to which I hope she enjoys the drinks we paid for and walked out on. Smh. You want to eat local and support in town not chains hut this is what happens. Smh. Headed to Buffalo Wild Wings

our favorite restaurants in town. Great wings...

I love the ranch fries here so much I usually order them as my meal, but the service makes me never want to go back. I don’t expect much from the staff here as they’re all younger and typically hanging out together at the front of the restaurant rather than checking on their customers. This last experience was ridiculous, though. Our server never once checked on us after bringing our food, we never got refills, and another server threw change she was tipped onto the metal counter loudly when her table left. At the end of our meal, we were waiting for at least 15 minutes after we finished our food, sitting back with empty plates, as our server sat at the front of the restaurant with the other servers talking and on their phones. My boyfriend made eye contact with her 3 times and she still didn’t come to the table. We were wanting to order dessert and get drink refills, but she laid down our check and told us to pay when we were ready and promptly walked away and into the back, so we never got to order dessert. I’m not a big fan of the meals I have tried here either, but I know there are other things people do love, so I’ve never held that against the restaurant. However, something needs to change with the staff because it is effecting the experience enormously. This was also a little after lunch and there were only 2 other tables filled, so being busy is not an...

The place itself was very cute and family-friendly. Now. The service was meh. Not bad but not the best. It's what you expect from a younger server. Then, the food. The only good thing I had was the seasoned loaded fries they do. It was extremely good. But, then I order the chicken Philly so disappointing. The veggies seem to be cut and heated in the microwave then thrown on a broken torn-up bun, the cheese was thrown on at the end. Just slap it on there and call it a day type of thing. I informed them how I felt and they took it back just to Sautee the stuff, a bit to melt my cheese and heat the veggies. Only to put it back on the same sorry, destroyed hot dog bun. It was very disappointing. Needless to say, I took 3 bites and called it a day. I was so looking forward to trying this place and heard nothing but good things about it. I am not sure if I'd be willing to give it another shot.

We stopped in the Downtown Grill for lunch on a Friday. We were seated right away. Cierra took good care of us by checking on us as well as keeping our glasses full. The place is clean but it is lacking atmosphere. It could at least use something on the walls. I got the mushroom swiss burger, and my wife got the patty melt. Both were very good. The burgers are made fresh in-house and are cooked nicely. The fries were also very good. The atmosphere is all that kept us from giving it a five. We will eat at the Downtown Grill again.

This is the first time in years we have eaten here. We decided to try it since the remodel and new ownership. We had the Cajun Burger and wings. This is probably the best burger I have ever eaten. Description on menu was spot on and it was cooked perfectly. The bun was also very fresh. The wings were Sweet and Sour and BBQ. Both were good but the BBQ was the best. We can’t wait to go back. I’m looking forward to trying the meat and three during weekday lunch.
