⭐ Jean is amazing — but my experience with the new tech was terrible

I’ve always come to this salon specifically for Jean, and she’s been great every single time — professional, polite, and meticulous — so I assumed my profile was automatically tied to her. Today I was assigned to a new nail tech (name sounded like “Babi”?). She told me that if I want Jian next time, I can message on WeChat, which was totally fine.

But the service itself felt off: • She never asked me to check or confirm anything during the process, just worked straight through. I’m usually very chill and not picky, so I didn’t mind at first. • When applying polish, the edges looked unfinished, almost like flaws. I mentioned it, thinking she hadn’t noticed. Instead, she started “educating” me — saying my nails are too big and pointy, “like radish heads,” and that you have to paint vertically so it doesn’t hit the sides. She repeated this several times, each time ending with “Do you understand?” • I replied that people usually say my nails are small. And honestly, if they really look like “radish heads,” that sounds more like a shaping issue than my natural nails. I also explained I’ve never had this problem before — not at any other salon I’ve been to. She brushed it off, saying every tech has a different aesthetic and I can just book someone else next time.

I let her finish just to see the result. Unfortunately, the outcome was crooked and uneven — nothing like the “great artist” level her tone implied. And when she was done, she didn’t even ask me to check the nails or whether I was happy with them. Later, once I got in my car, I realized they were still sticky to the touch. Honestly, it was shockingly bad compared to the nails I walked in with.

To make things worse, when the next client arrived late, that client politely said she’d wait in the car and asked about the timing. The tech replied it would be 15 minutes because the client was late, then made a point — right in front of me — to mention that I had also been late. I was only 5 minutes late, which has never been an issue here before.

Throughout all of this, I was polite and respectful, only pointing out what I noticed. The way she handled it left me feeling very uncomfortable.
