Tea Era — Restaurant in Cupertino

This review has nothing to do with the quality of the food, but the service attitude really shocked me. I ordered a large drink, and this was my first time being here. I didn’t figure out the size error from the receipt.

When I saw the drink, I confirmed that I wanted a large size. The staff who ordered for me said that the one I was holding was a regular size, and she ordered a regular instead of large. There was no sign of apology, and her tone of voice sounded like she did nothing wrong. She asked if I wanted to order a large one again. I asked what size I actually paid for. She said I paid for a regular one. I did not want to waste my time and I left.

While I was waiting for my drinks, she had plenty of chance and time to let me know about this situation. However, she said nothing until I confronted her.

I checked with the friend who introduced me to this location, and my friend experienced the same type of rude service before.

I ordered a Iron Buddah Milk Tea after reading about all the hype around it. Kinda reminded me of the type of milk tea you'd find in a store that doesn't specialize in milk tea.

Don't get me wrong- I could tell the tea itself must've been good. It's extremely fragerant, and the flavour comes through quite well. But somehow, I don't think they got the milk and the sweetness right. Tapioca is fine, super chewy, not exactly my jam but it's decent. The milky flavor was uncomfortable and kinda watery. It was almost perfect sweetness (I got 'less sweet'), which is great, but the sweetness itself is weird. Their syrup concoction or the type of sugar they use must be rather wonky.

I've only tried one drink from this place, so I might come again. Seeing that they have good tea but they can't really pull off //milk tea//, I'll just get their ice tea next time. No sugar, and no toppings.

If you want to be disrespected to your face come here. Me and my friends came here because one of our friends wanted to get popcorn chicken, the store was empty besides 2 other people and we sat down with our food from another place while waiting for our friend to order. Without doing anything besides sitting there with our Togo bags a few members of the staff started loudly commenting on us being there in Chinese assuming that we couldn't understand what they were saying. They said many wildly disrespectful things such as "do these people think this is a picnic" and "why are these three people so annoying" when all we did was sit there and wait for our friend's food which he ordered at the shop.
