An excellent choice for the serious board gamer, they carry tons of games of all kinds. One area they might improve on is more casual games of the kind that appeal to non-gamers -- party games and stuff that adults might play while drinking and socializing rather than intense Agricola type games. No doubt it is hard to compete on those with big box stores but still it is odd for a games store not to carry anything the average person will recognize. I've seen a lot of reviews here mention the rude or inattentive staff, and that has not usually been my experience. I think a lot depends on what else is going on in the store -- I've occasionally had to wait when there are multiple tables with games going on and the clerk is helping other customers, but only once did I feel unwelcome, when the clerk was talking across to the store to his buddies and ignoring me at the counter. That was years ago though. The comments about prices are laughable. As far as I can tell, everything is sold at MRSP. Niche games like this simply cost more than Monopoly or Scrabble because they are made in smaller runs, with much more effort going into development and components than those mass market games which are decades old. The fact that several of the Google reviews seem identical and grouse about prices and service make me wonder. I'd definitely use their gaming space if I wasn't able to host my gaming group at my home, and they occasionally have cool "Gaming Days" where the public is invited to come in and try out games from their extensive library of loaner copies. Their role-playing section is limited to the best sellers and they don't really carry miniatures other than a few collectible plastics. Unfortunately there is not really anything nearby that carries a wider variety of RPGs or minis unless you go to Barberton...
Read moreMeh, for a store its sub par. I understand that specializing in a niche can be rather limiting but this is wack. The store is rather empty and limited when it comes to most rpg items. Rather small collection of painted minis on sale, the minis that are, are fine. The fish tank of dice is nice because if your missing one die you can just buy one and your not gonna ship in a singular die. Very “awkward” atmosphere in the store, complete silence. Maybe if they added some background music or something to break up the void like monotonous stores mood. When you go to this store you are basically donating to charity with these abserd prices. First of all the dice cost alot, for the price of two sets you could get five instead at other places (these are also the cheapest dice possible at the store which are the exact same dice like what). The books cost a bit more, about double the price for normal hard covers. I ordered a set of three foiled books that came with a dope dm screen and a case for them for under the price of two regular books by ten dollars. All of these prices I could easily forgive if the store was more friendly, like if they had tables for people to play at, a little more color in the room because as of now its quite grey (figuratively), very drab, also add some sound or something, the only thing you hear at the store is a cough, this store is why people think rpg table top games are played by over weight or skin and bones, out sider, losers that dwell in their basements and avoid making contact with people at all costs, like the cashier is literally OZ from fanboy and chum chum. Idk, maybe they’re hiding the real store in the back where to get in you have to be...
Read moreFormerly, I had a five-star, glowing review. I'm changing it to a one-star because, sadly, this location is not what it used to be. I used to come here for years upon years, and this was my go-to place for games in the Cuyahoga Falls area. The people that worked here were cool and knowledgeable, and it was nice to meet other people into the trade.
Most of the employees I formerly knew have since left or are rarely seen here anymore, and most of the ones currently here are just extremely rude. Seriously, there have been times where I got eyes rolled at me, was interrupted when asking a question, and in general just made to feel awkward. On top of this, the selection here is bare bones and rarely switches out, with just enough board games, tabletop miniatures, and cards to call itself a game store. Also, they used to be good about getting people to behave, but now? I was in there with my four-year old daughter, and this guy at a table was swearing up a storm. An employee was right there but said nothing, and I kept looking at the guy, who seemed oblivious to the fact there was a little kid there. (Or maybe just didn't care.) Again, made the situation super uncomfortable, and keeps me from wanting to take my family here.
I hate to change my old review, but I felt that I had to in order to be honest. I hate to be the "You just lost my business" guy, but... yes, after several years of loyalty, they just lost...
