My wife and I are big fans of the brunch at Blue Door, and were excited to try the new dinner service. After having a couple of meals here for dinner over the last few months, I wanted to write a review and give credit where it is due, as well as provide a few suggestions for improvement. First and foremost, the dinner is a bit pricey for the area (but also higher quality) and the dishes, which range from smaller plates to larger plates, are really meant to be shared. We love this dining style, but it is atypical for restaurants here outside of tapas and other family-style settings. The wine options are excellent and really well thought out, both in variety and in taste. As we travel frequently, Blue Door during dinner gives us the feel of some of the smaller restaurants in Rome or Dublin we ate at, and we really enjoy being able to get that experience here. The Europe feeling transmits well in terms of food quality too, which is superb. The chef clearly uses fresh and high quality ingredients, and is well above and beyond the food quality you can get at most restaurants in the area. Regarding the food, the chef changes the menu frequently which keeps it fresh and exciting, especially for repeat customers. However, some of the food options were simply OK, while others were absolutely delicious. When working with flavors and food items on the more exotic side, tastes can definitely differ, but the quality varies for us depending on what menu item we ordered. For example, during our first visit the bread option was a multigrain bread that was very dry and not very flavorful, however during our second visit the bread option was a delicious sourdough. From our recent visit, the pizzelle wins awards on presentation, but the taste was not very exciting. Both dessert options from our recent visit were quite tasty, but they had very similar tastes when you would expect variety from only two options. However, beyond a few items here and there, everything is by and large extremely delicious (the oysters and fried chicken are a must!). It is an experience and environment you won't get in many other places in northeast Ohio, so we highly recommend that it makes your next list for...

They use local ingredients and everything tasted fresh and was crafted beautifully. Highly recommend eating here. It's a beautiful experience. The host and server were very friendly and welcoming and the portions were perfect for the price.
Old Review:
First I have to warn everyone about their Yelp app waitlist. It's first come first serve: so if you're standing outside before they open, you get first dibs at seating over those who put themselves on the wait list. If you're crazy like my family and choose to visit on a holiday, you're in for a long wait. After 3 minutes of being open they we're filled to capacity. BUT TRUST ME, IT'S WORTH THE WAIT (as so many in line will tell you.) It's a very small building but the atmosphere and style of the restaurant is cozy yet sophisticated. The servers are very friendly and efficient. This is a great place to treat yourself to and would be perfect for intimate celebrations and dates. They also have a drive thru attached to the building, which is ingenious!!
The menu is only one page long but I've been told they change the menu every month or so to keep things new and fresh. Now the most important review; the food. It's heaven on a plate. You can tell they pride themselves on what they do. Everything we ordered was hot, fresh, DELICIOUS and plated beautifully. It's truly a unique place. You have no idea what a quiche or croissants are supposed to taste like until you come here. (The local coffee was also delicious!) I would highly recommend this place. I will definitely be back and will happily wait outside for a table.
Thank you so much Blue Door for making this Mother's Day a truly memorable one and reminding people that food can be a beautiful and delicious...
Read moreI just wanna say wow. These reviews don’t lie. What an absolute gem to have right here in Ohio. We went on a Saturday around 11 and they were busy, not surprised and was definitely okay waiting to see the hype about this place. Our group of 4 managed to get seated in about 20 minutes or less which was impressive. Some of the reviews unhappily state how crowded it is in here, but I see that as just another sign of how good this place is. So it didn’t bother me how close some of the tables were, especially since everyone was minding their own. Even considering how busy it was, our waitress was over to greet us as soon as possible and we didn’t feel ignored. She personable, attentive and added to our awesome experience. I started off with their very berry tea which was amazing. Super potent and naturally sweetened. I regret not buying from their retail selection. For my meal I ordered the seasonal dish: blackberry bramble breakfast quiche. It smelt good as soon as I saw it. The salad and the fruit that came with it were both fresh and flavorful. The quiche itself was perfectly cooked. The crust, not too dry or burnt and the inside of the quiche wasn’t dry either. Also tasted great with the added blackberries. My only note would be to have a quiche with no ham in it. It was still great with the ham, but I feel like a different meat or or even another veggie would’ve made it stand out even more. My fiancé and I tried to get a blueberry scone and a cherry danish but unfortunately they were out for the day, which I understand. First come, first serve. We’ll make sure to come earlier in the morning to ensure we try those pastries next time. We settled for a regular danish and it was delicious. All in all, this was a great experience and I can’t wait to...
