Cy Fair Driving School — Local services in Cypress

This school is a pretty nice one, but there are things that irked me today.

I enjoy going to this school, and I was on my 6th lesson today, which was supposed to be based around the freeway/highway. I picked the two hour one, which included be and another.

I had Johnny as my instructor today, who I will say is kind and gives fairly alright feedback but the entire time, he would make me nervous and distracted me a fair amount.

We stopped at a Mcdonald’s and he was gone for around 10 minutes, which cut into my driving time, which already rose a red flag.

Once it was my time to drive, I was doing fairly well, but for half the time, he would be asking the kid who went, to write him a five star review, going as far as to checking his own phone to see if he sent it in. He would eventually give up after 10-20 minutes.

We went to the freeway/highway, since that was the main purpose for today, and we were only on it for about 5 minutes before heading back. I understand that going for more time would’ve brought us back to the school a little late, but???

Either way, we head back, and i’m a little on edge, which he further makes it worse by touching the steering wheel and hitting his own breaks, which again, understandable. I was drifting a small bit, but in this scenario he could’ve told me.

The whole situation was making me do mistakes than I usually wouldn’t make, stressing me out way more than it should have.

The school itself is pretty good, I would definitely recommend it, this review isn’t completely about it. I just found this hour lesson to be a complete waste of my time, and it frustrated me to an extent.

If you want a good driving experience, I would recommend Mrs.Wendx. She is by far, the most kindhearted person on Earth. She makes conversation and keeps the drive nice and calm, and makes you feel like a friend, not a student. The drive is never awkward or tense, and lets you know step by step what to do. If I could write her a separate review, i’d give her beyond five stars.

I don’t believe Johnny is going to be in this school for longer, considering when I was going up the highway, he was taking pictures, saying how it was his last day, rather than talking me through it,,since we all know the highway is a terrifying experience for the first time...

I would not recommend this driving school. I fell for their high 4 star review and come to find out the students are required to give them a review at their last instruction class. Please do your research before you sign up at any location. I was very disappointed with my experience with this driver’s ed course. Also, i understand they ask for a 48 hour cancellation notice for the driving course but I had no choice but to give a 24 hour notice due to work and got charged a $30 fee. They are quick to charge but when their instructors cancel they don’t even try to make up the missed class which you paid for! On line the instruction course stated it was suppose to be a 2 hr class and nope.. about an hour and a half, sometimes one hour. Again, you are paying for the full course but definitely do not get your money’s worth. You are better off teaching them yourself. And i agree with other reviewers, not very nice...

Update: the driving school did call back and apologized for the instructor and offered a driving lesson to compensate. Fact remains that the school employed an instructor who was not able to communicate well with student drivers.

I would give a zero to this driving school if I could. They have absolutely horrible driving instructors, some that do not even speak english. One of the instructors was confused about his left and right and almost caused an accident when my student was learning. He was shaking when he came home.
