Walked into the shop it smelled heavily of cigarettes, Cake looked like a child decorated it, I asked for a high heeled shoe and was told it would be red, it was purple. The shoe was deformed and the heel was crooked, I explained to Grace that the cake wasn’t up to par and that we’d need a refund or a discount, she became very belligerent and started raising her voice. The cake decorations looked NOTHING like the work she has posted, the glitter was spotty and the icing was completely unacceptable, she agreed to fix the cake and I watched as she was fixing it, once finished she came out with the finished product and asked if I still wanted 2 of the 3 sculptures that were originally on it and I told her yes. Then she says “I can’t put it on the cake because it’s melting” and I asked if she’d put it in the freezer as she was fixing the cake and she hesitated and said yes, that was a lie. She genuinely thought this cake was acceptable, I paid almost $200 for a cake that my infant could’ve made. She wouldn’t at least give an acceptable discount, only for the 2 fondant sculptures that were taken off. She was extremely rude, threatened to call the police if I didn’t sign the paper and then proceeded to ask for my ID. and when I asked her why she had no response, I don’t recommend buying ANY cake from Gracious Baking, 10/10 the WORST service I’ve ever had, pictures will be inserted of the before and after, all in all I paid $145 for a 2 tier cake with purple glitter and red icing with a Book on top. Read moreGrace E. cancelled my event order a few hours before I was supposed to pick up. I contacted Gracious Baking with a custom cupcake order request with a 2 day rush because of an event. "Grace E." agreed to the order and timeline and sent me an electronic invoice that I paid immediately. I asked if I could submit an updated logo file the morning of pick up, and pickup later in the day and she said "Yes you can" and then said "It will be cutting it too close" because she wanted me to pick up at 12noon rather than the evening. So I asked if it would be possible to get it to her by midnight the evening before, and she said "that would be great". I sent a zip folder with jpeg and png options by 10pm so well before the deadline. She then says she can't open the folder and might have to cancel my order. By 9am I emailed her back with the images attached separately rather than as a zip (not being able open a zip folder when you offer a custom photo-based service is another matter). But Grace sent me an email saying that due to time constraints and my inability to clearly express what I want, my order has been cancelled and refunded. I immediately wrote her back and asked if I could pick up later or if something could be done, and she emailed back a two word reply: "Good luck".
