This place is fun but not thrifty in anyway! Think boutique pricing. High priced items here that make for great gifts and knick knacks but even higher than retail price for most items. Some of the items are unique or local but there is a lot of stuff that's clearly mass produced. Items you can easily find at other decor and local shops for half the price. This shop does donate part of its proceeds to a animal organization so if you like to support, it may be worth the extra cost. The items were fun and cool and the place is well organized but it's definitely more of a boutique than a resell/antique shop and is no way a thrift store in my opinion. It seems there is a large majority of items that are new and mass produced.I would come back again if I was looking for one particular person to purchase a gift but definitely wouldn't come here again and again for casual "thrifting" or "treasure hunting". If you're looking for a great quirky item or a unique gift this is a good spot to check out! There is an outdoor area in the back for yard ornaments and such and the parking lot is easy to access. I really did like this place but a lot of the items were new merchandise which I wasn't expecting. I was expecting more antiques...
Read moreMy Wife and I decided to visit this nice looking thrift store , and we were excited. We come in and start to look around, as we walk we compliment the items there to what we thought was the owner but it turned out to be an older lady that just worked there. Later on we decided to record ourselves in the store and the lady starts to make it terribly obvious that she (for whatever reason) has issue with us recording ourselves and the store (once again because it looked very nice); she proceeds to make “Coughing” noises as if trying to catch our attention , she asks us “ok what are you doing” with a disgusting attitude might i add. My wife and I answer the woman and tell her we just wanted to record ourselves and parts of the store, and she says “Well i dont really Know about that” we ignore her and continue and she KEEPS making the coughing noises; we go to her and ask do you have an issue with us? She says again “ i dont know about what you all are doing” and we tell her “Ok thats fine, we will leave “ The end, Maybe a nice thrift store to look at, but the employee(s) need...
Read moreI’m writing this as a husband and father who was with my wife and our child when we were treated unfairly at Second Chance Treasures. While my wife was breastfeeding — which is protected by Texas law — an employee named Beth asked us to leave the store.
Under Texas Health & Safety Code § 165.002, a mother has the legal right to breastfeed her child in any public or private place where she is otherwise authorized to be. That includes stores like this one. Asking her to leave for breastfeeding was not only humiliating — it was illegal.
Breastfeeding is natural, necessary, and protected by law. No family should be made to feel unwelcome or shamed for feeding their child. I hope the owners take this seriously and provide proper training for their staff. We won’t be returning, and I urge others — especially families — to think twice before supporting this business until real...
