Today was my first time visiting this restaurant and I have to say that I was very disappointed.
I usually love Chinese food, especially ANYTHING involving noodles, but this was the first time I was let down.
Starting out from when I first arrived, I will say I am super appreciative that the staff wore masks, even though the cooks did not.
I was asking about different menu items and I kept being referred to look at the screen, which is great for me to physically see the meal, but I had to ask questions on what was in the dish to decide if I wanted it. I settled on the chicken and mushroom rice dumplings and beef noodle soup.
The dumplings were okay, but very bland. The soy sauce was the only flavor but I’m glad the rice was soft. The noodle is what really upset me. The bok choy was almost chewy, and I removed one piece to see if it was the noodle or indeed the bok choy. The noodles were flavorless, and so was the beef and the noodles. I have no idea where the color from the broth came from because it’s as if the broth had no salt or seasoning. The chili flakes didn’t help either.
I told the staff up front that I didn’t like my meal, but they gave no reaction to that. They just said they would clean off the table and that was it. They didn’t ask for my feedback at all. There was a lady who asked me about my meal, I’m assuming she was the owner; but I hadn’t had a chance to try the noodles yet or I would’ve told her.
The staff were huddled at the front talking with each other when I told one of them, who I’m assuming was the lead, that I didn’t like what I ordered. I don’t assume to get a refund, but I would have appreciated being able to give them feedback, or it would’ve been nice to try something else as I spent what I would consider to be a lot for one person. The only thing I enjoyed was the peach lemonade.
It’s great to see there are such great reviews here but I will not be recommending on my end. I felt that I wasn’t heard or that my feedback didn’t matter.
The food LOOKED great and I will still contribute those photos and videos, but I’m incredible saddened because of my...
Read moreDO NOT RECOMMEND FOR THOSE WITH CELIAC(See second paragraph.) We chose Hello Dumpling, because it was close and had gluten free menu options. (I have a gluten sensitivity.) My son and I ordered the chicken rice dumplings, crispy basil chicken and chicken skewers - all of which were marked as gluten free on their menu. (My boyfriend got the beef noodle soup and the pork pan-fried dumplings and had no complaints.) I was overall disappointed in my son's and my food. The rice dumplings were more like wet sushi balls ("wet" meaning the rice was not very sticky), and the dipping sauce made the overall taste even worse. The crispy basil chicken was okay, but I didn't really taste much basil. It was nice to be able to go out and order something like popcorn chicken, I will admit. But it did not come with any dipping sauce and should have really had some. The skewers were a little dry but were otherwise okay. My son ate all three with no complaints. I also got the Golden Milk Tea with boba made with soy milk (I also have a dairy restriction but it's allowable in small amounts, and I order milk tea from various places all the time with boba or other toppings with no trouble), and it tasted kinda like cereal milk. I couldn't really taste the tea, but the soy milk just might have been too overpowering.
*Later on that afternoon, I got very sick in a way that meant I had eaten gluten at some point, and this was the only place we had eaten out that day. And I did not have any of my boyfriend's food, nor did he eat from mine until I was finished eating. So I unfortunately will not be back. I might have given it a second try and just ordered something different, but having a reaction like that is too...
Read moreI've found another exceptional eatery on Yelp. I love Chinese dumplings, and I've found an excellent place for dumplings and noodles.
The dining area is spacious, airy, and bright. The large windows allow for large amounts of light, which adds to the brightness of the white decor: a basic setup of tables, nothing fancy, but plenty of seating.
You order at the counter from a menu with a good selection of items, not overwhelming with too many things. There are several dumpling offerings to choose from, including beef, chicken, fish, and veggie options. The menu also includes Rice Dumplings, Soup Noodles, Sauce Noddles, Cold Bites, Hot Bites, and some sweets.
Your order will be brought out to your table. The service is friendly, quick, and easy. If you have any questions, they are more than happy to answer any you may have.
I'm tried a few different items over my last couple of visits.
The pan-seared Beef dumplings with carrot and onions were delicious. There's eight per order and very flavorful and filling. They have almost the perfect crisp on the dumplings.
The Braised Beef Soup Noodles is slow-braised beef shank in a spicy bone broth, and it is out of this world with tons of flavor. The bone broth was outstanding.
If you're looking for something quick and savory, you have to try the Crispy Basil Chicken Bites.
If you're looking for authentic Chinese noodles and dumplings, you have to give "hello dumplings" a try, and you won't be...
